I am totally surprised by all the good reviews here, this has not been my son's experience at all. He is still in the middle of a 6 month nightmare with his home unfixed and more damage done by whoever Winmar sent out to fix the original sewer backup damage. Winmar, or it's contractors have done a horrible job painting and repairing the drywall. They left paint on the new bath fixtures, on the tile grout and other places. A door and a vanity have been damaged. This home had just recently been totally renovated. The worst part is that Winmar was advised that my son has pets but left one day and left his door open, not unlocked but actually open. As well the underbelly of his trailer was not properly secured and now we believe animals may have gotten in and caused more damage. At one point my son asked his insurance adjuster to tell Winmar he did not want them to continue because he was afraid they would cause even more damage. He was then offered a payout by Westland insurance which would have fixed everything. Then Westland, with no credible explanation, rescinded the payout and have to date denied offering it although we have the payout offer in writing. Winmar Kelowna has not responded to my sons attempts to rectify this situation and insurance will not cover anything now that is not original claimed damage. So six months in my son sits in a home that is in worse shape than when he started. These are just a few pics of Winmars work. Help!

Contrary to the answer below, my son asked his adjuster to ask Winmar not to return fearing more damage to his home. I never said they abandoned the claim. Despite repeatedly trying to contact Winmar to rectify this situation, he got nowhere. He has not yet received the cash payout from insurance, after 3 different payouts being offered, one retracted for no reason, and a lot of confusion. He has asked insurance to approve another company to restore his home and has not received an answer. 6 months in and his home is still not fixed.

Dealing with Winmar has been more than frustrating!
It’s not about the workers themselves; it’s the management that’s the issue. They’re super unorganized and leave things half-finished, which just creates a mess with dust everywhere. None of the personal belongings are as protected as they should be, or promised to be. You never know when the crew is coming or not. No one follows up with you. And when they do show up, you constantly have to remind them about what needs to be done because there are always new people on the job who have no clue what’s going on. There’s no clear direction, and when things go wrong, the manager just blames it on a coordinator that doesn’t even exist. It feels like there’s just poor management and no accountability.

I don’t know how they got past 3 stars on google reviews- perhaps people dealt with different management. I’m dealing with Tyler.

**Edit: I want to acknowledge that the owner of the company genuinely cares about his client’s satisfaction. He reached out to address my concerns and made an effort to help improve the situation. While not everything went perfectly, I appreciate his initiative and commitment to customer care. I have adjusted my rating accordingly.

Winmar was awarded the rebuild of our home after it was burnt in a large house fire in April 2020. Janessa Brown's reputation precedes her as a professional business woman who knows the ins and outs of the construction world. Janessa has lived up to her reputation in every way. She has helped us navigate the difficult world of an insurance rebuild and fought for us when needed to ensure our rebuild was completed properly and to our standards.
Janessa's right hand man, Mike is a great foreman. He always asked for our opinions and advise on finishes and such. As my husband also works in the construction industry, he held Mike to a very high standard and Mike shone through as a great person to run the site. I was always so grateful to hear an update from Mike on the progress and he addressed any issues in a timely and professional manner.
Overall, working with Janessa and Mike and the rest of the Winmar team has been a great experience. The devastation that occurs after a house fire is unbelievable and it is so appreciated to have people like Janessa and Mike support you through a rebuild.
I would highly recommend Winmar for any restoration project.

After experiencing a dishwasher leak, the team from Winmar arrived to remediate the water damage. Right from my first connection with the project manager, I felt like my property was a priority and they took the utmost of care in their work. We received prompt attention and great customer service even though our region had just experienced a crazy windstorm and their team was full out responding to emergency calls. I would recommend their services and professionalism!

We recently had a dishwasher flood in our home into a revenue generating suite. Winmar was fantastic at working within our schedule of booked visitors. They came on time and provided excellent quality of workmanship. I was most delighted to come home after the job was completed (fully expecting to be cleaning up drywall dust for days) into the repaired the space and it was SPOTLESS. Incredible! Thank you Winmar!

Winmar did our emergency work after we had a leak in our basement. They came out the same day as they were contacted by our insurance company. Had fans set up right away and a crew here bright and early the next morning to assess the damage and deal with our possessions. Responded quickly to our needs. We were very impressed by how professional everyone was. My husband was particularly impressed by how courteous they were to us and each other. Sorry we needed your services but very grateful it was your company that was sent out. Thank you to everyone who was involved.

AMAZING service. Dayna is TOP NOTCH. Nobody is excited to call a restoration company and I was super nervous about doing an insurance claim. Dayna came to do the assessment and explained everything as she went. They were on schedule and very thorough. The special tap I ordered for the bathroom was late in arrival, but they still installed it. They kept us updated on everything and I am LOVING the finished product. I highly recommend Winmar and if you get Dayna as your project manager, EVEN BETTER!!
