Visiting the cancer center for a couple weeks treatment with my wife. Very impressed with the cleanliness. The caring and knowledge of the nurses is unbelievable. So caring. Very fast and efficient.

The care I got in the emergency room was very questionable. Triage was great as the nurses know me from the 50 million other times I ended up in the hospital. But the issue I had was when I made it down to a room on the C side. X rays were done but they made an error as they did an x ray the wrong side. After that things went down hill because realistically after this what should have happened was a physical exam by the emergency department doctor to see what was going on. Also had that been done they would have released that they made a mistake. But instead the doctor in 5 minutes fabricated an answer but clearly didn't know very much and didn't ask enough questions either. But now I know next week when nothing improves if I choose to go back I have to question everything because the people who are supposed to help in these types of situations aren't really doing a great job. The question though that I always ask is why don't they just hire emergency specialists it would be better then having one guy make an answer because he doesn't know because he doesn't realise that a mistake was made

In here for surgery. Doctor is nice and he’s talented. But it’s the nurses that make being in the hospital tolerable. They’re so professional but yet so nice to you.

Vancouver General Hospital is the best. It is clean and tidy, with advanced facilities, professional doctors and caring nurses! Being sick is very painful. When I was in the most difficult time, I received meticulous care from nurse Linda on the tenth floor. Her professional ability is five-star! She takes care of every patient like an angel!

VGH is THE place to get help. The Drs are SO smart and they care.

My life is saved. I am able to live many decades more, with zero complications.

Yeah, im in pain. But, EVERYTHING is SO clean. My incisions are PRECISE.

My care team has kept eyes on me, the entire time. Not once did I lose hope.

UBC is not a part of this review. ONLY VGH. Thank you all. I will honour you, with my ethical life.

This can be a very busy hospital, especially the ER. You may end up waiting for several hours to be seen by an ER doctor. Canada’s population has exploded, overwhelming healthcare capacity. That is the reality.

What a wild thing to be able to review a hospital. Well I had it all, frustration, appreciation, health care at its best and at its worst. All in a very very busy understaffed hospital. In the end, I can't afford to b*tch or praise the place but to be grateful we gave the system, facilities and staff we do have.
