My family has been hosting a basketball league at Valour Community Centre every Saturday for the past few months. We’ve always been respectful, clean up right after our games, and make sure to leave on time. But our experience on Saturday, June 28th was extremely upsetting.

That day was our league finals, and we had more guests than usual—many of them elderly or children. When we politely asked for a few extra chairs, one staff member (a middle-aged white man) was shockingly rude. He walked over shaking his head with an angry expression and said, “How many more chairs do you need for a basketball game?”—as if our event wasn’t worth supporting.

His tone and attitude were completely unprofessional. He didn’t try to understand or help—just closed the storage room without another word and walked away, leaving many people standing.

It was embarrassing and hurtful, especially for my family, who don’t speak English as their first language. They were confused and didn’t know how to respond to someone being so hostile.

We’ve done our part to be respectful and cooperative every week, and this kind of treatment is unacceptable. Valour Community Centre needs to seriously address how their staff interact with community members—especially when it comes to treating everyone with basic decency.

Love the gym at this location. I play pickleball there a couple times a week and the lighting is good, floors are always clean and not slippery.

Played badminton here. It’s a spacious and clean gym, compared to some community centres.

Played dodgeball here quite a bit and I enjoy this facility and is one of the best we've played at. The gym is a nice big size and we could have 2 games going on at once. There is a parking lot which was big enough for us to never have to park far away. Basically my only complaint is that the lobby area is a bit small.

Wonderful gym kept in pristine condition. We play floor hockey recreationally here, weekly, and the centre is always clean and tidy, the bathrooms are stocked and clean, and the gym floor is free of scuffs and debris

I've been a part of this Community Center all my life.. I live right across from the field in the front of the club.. I've seen this Club improve and the renovations it went through since the 1960's.. The facility is awesome.. Behind the Club has a nice pool and play structure for kids...and beautiful grass behind the club as well for kids to play soccer, football and other sports and activities (Something I use to do with friends everyday) and extra parking spaces.. The front of the Club has a huge field for the older kids to practice and have football games which I've been watching every weekend for years...play some baseball and soccer, and out of the diamond, and 500 and up, ball hockey and many other sports and activities.. People walking there dogs..
A lifetime of memories..
Valour Community Center Isaac Brock Site is a fabulous place..

My son goes to club. His first year, he goes for the afternoon from kindergarten. The staff are lovely, which he absolutely adores as well!
