A great local paper and technically a National paper for the breath and depth of stories they cover. They are very generous in providing access to libraries so that everyone has access to the news. Highly recommend getting a subscription in print or online. They do great investigative work and also do a lot of charity work to support the community and writers.

My mother had a Fri/Sat subscription and had had this for years. When she relocated to a retirement building in 2021, even though they deliver to it regularly, they wouldn't move her subscription as they no longer offer it. So now, for 4 years, she's looked for her Friday paper. Such an unkind and unfeeling thing to put a 100yo woman through. Truly, how difficult would it have been to change the delivery address on a standing subscription? They should be ashamed of themselves.

You think people are going to pay for your online articles when it’s about health and safety. I would rather get salmonella from recalled eggs then pay for your digital toilet paper. But Fishinf for money when it comes to Toronto’s safety, disgusting!

A couple of years ago I thought I should support Cdn news media when all the bruhah started with Cdn government and FB. So I accepted an offer for a digital subscription from the Toronto Star. It cost a reasonable $1.13 a month. Allowed me to read all the articles on the website. Perfect. I enjoy the newspaper. Now a few days ago my monthly payment went to $22.59! No notice, call or email ... just a 2000% increase. I just called the Toronto Star and had a conversation with someone who advised me that the 1.13 offer had expired so I was signed up automatically to the $19.99 / month offer. Ok but that's an excessive increase and why no notice? They don't do notices. He then proceded to talk me into a special offer of $6.50 per month for a limited time of 6 months. I declined because without any notice you can increase the price a ridiculous amount. I would like a refund and to cancel my subscription. It took several attempts but I finally prevailed. Not sure if anyone from the Toronto Star executive reads their Toronto Star business profile but I urge you to please improve your communication with your subscribers. Because you have lost a loyal subscriber permanently due to your policy of non communication of price increases. Farewell.

Charging fees for viewing online articles is ridiculous!! It's 2024, and they contribute nothing of value, so... I went out of my way to give them the 1 star they deserve. I'd recommend boycotting these types of "news" providers!!

Wouldn't trust anything they say, highly biased.
On top of that for the first time ever I accessed one of their articles on Google News and can't even read 2 lines because apparently I've reached my free allowance for the year I never accessed your paper before. 👎👎👎👎
