I stayed here for one night in the summer — it was very disappointing.
Their slogan says: “We’re not a 5-star hotel, but we provide clean sheets and towels.”
But honestly, I didn’t see any cleanliness at all.
The linens were not fresh, and the room felt dirty overall.
They provided shampoo, soap, and toilet paper, but no hand or paper towels.
The bathroom is shared with the next room, which was empty — still, it was advertised as a “private bathroom.”
The water pressure was extremely low — even washing hands or taking a shower was a struggle.
There’s no fridge, TV, or anything in the rooms — just in the common lounge on each floor.
Wi-Fi is free, which was the only decent thing.
It cost me $230 for one night during a long weekend, which is not cheap.
At that price, there are better hotels, and this place is very far from downtown.
Reception staff were rude and unprofessional too.

I have a strong connection to UBCO, knowing several students who attend, having hired talented students from the university, and proudly being a graduate myself. The faculty is outstanding dedicated, knowledgeable, and truly invested in student success. UBCO offers an amazing learning environment that fosters innovation, critical thinking, and real world experience. The campus community is welcoming and supportive, making it an incredible place to study and grow. I highly recommend UBCO to anyone looking for a top-tier education in a vibrant setting!

The Computer Science department should be ashamed of themselves. Truly a disgrace how some of these professors have 0 pride or care in their work with students. I don't know how they feel fulfilled in life after having 0 pride or passion in their work.

It seems like after second year, all the professors for upper year classes don't care about teaching students anymore (for whatever reason i.e "you should know this already"). If I don't do my job at my workplace my manager has a talk with me, but some of these CS professors think this does not apply to them.

Truly a disgrace some of the professors here. No idea how they pridefully sleep at night or tell their buddies they are professors at a top education institution. There are a few gems and I greatly appreciate those professors that follow their job duties and description.

Edit to reply to response from owner: This is a lie. If you do speak to the professors or even anyone at the department, they take your concerns very nonchalantly and use every bureaucratic resource/policy available to them to assert their egos even more.

If you really take student feedback seriously, I highly recommend auditing all your professors with poor survey feedback and comparing them with the highly rated professors. There will be a clear difference and I hope you are qualified enough to make the real changes that actually help students.

Their application process lacks transparency, don’t waste your money here, there are better schools for CS in Canada.

The Bachelor of Management program is a complete money grab and a joke! What they teach can be self-taught by reading the course books on your own. Some profs are condescending and highly unprofessional in the way they communicate with students. Save your money and nerve cells, especially, if you are an international student!

Friendly people here and the architecture is amazing as well as the top notch parking and ease of directions within UBC. A beautiful place!
