A pretty good place, the process is pretty fast. Need to have your own bags, but they don't give very much as any other downtown food bank so one large Dollarama bag would be more than enough. Recommend if you live close

DO NOT USE THIS TOY DRIVE. They don’t screen the toys or they do and don’t care. I know several different families whose Christmas was absolutely ruined. They got used toys, dog toys/cat toys, and everything was from dollarama. Please don’t donate if the items are not of good quality or from dollarama. There’s plenty of sales at Walmart or even Red Apple…there’s no excuse to give away junk just because you think “something is better than nothing”. Remember these kids believe in Santa Claus and they’re getting garbage for Christmas…they are not happy to open junk…their hearts are shattered. Please do not do this…do not just toss anything into a bag and donate it. It’s rude and ignorant point blank period. If you can’t afford to do it right don’t do it all.

I feel so bad for even saying any of this and this may be ungrateful but do NOT sign up for the toy drive with Salvation Army. I didn’t want to put this out there because it’s embarrassing but I just got a bag of dollarama toys and a dog toy from 2021. I don’t have a dog. If you can’t afford to help people then don’t. I’m crying for those that were depending on this for their Christmas. The dollarama stickers are still on everything.

The most ignorant place to search for help. The staff do not care about anyone who knocks on the window. They will not help any person in need. They treat the clients with no respect or dignity..I personally have went there with hopes of finding help with both my grieving process and my addiction issues, but they don't care about anything, I've found half naked woman surrounded by animalistic men and had to cloth her with my own clothing because she was ignored by the desk staff. Even if staying here it's impossible to get anything..cups, bandaids, anything. The cleaning staff are constantly stealing and if you complain they kick you out. At the Waterworld, the staff run at full pace if someone is overdosed...here they will just stay in the office and laugh. They serve near beers at supper which totally contradictory since this is a rehabilitation centre.. my best advice..don't waste your time coming or donating here...its pathetic and really quite sad...I don't have a single nice thing to say about this place...I hope a news channel exposes these people

The administrator fired the lady that used to do the food bank and replaced her with some OTHER PERSON. When the original lady ran the food bank she could handle the job, even when covid started and the food bank appointments were 1 time a week per-person. Now the new people running the food bank can't even handle 1 time every 14 days ( Which is what the Food association allows btw ) and is now stretching everyone's appointments to every 3 weeks or more. So next time you can't get any food from this Salvation army location you can thank the administrator that fired the original lady that ran the food bank, who could do her job correctly and replaced her with incompetence. Maybe they just want to collect the funding for the food bank and just run it as minimally as possible to still qualify for the food bank funding money, who knows. I do know it is run much worse now since they fired the lady that ran it last summer. And ps. to the lady that ran it last summer THANK YOU FOR YOUR EFFORTS WE MISS YOU and can tell your missing now 🙁
