With due respect to the AFFL’s intentions, their execution is misguided. I received a $50 grocery gift card from them today simply because my child was enrolled in a TCDSB summer school course. We don’t remotely need it. While indiscriminately spraying out gift cards may be welcomed by families in need, there has to be a huge amount of waste in this approach. We’ll give our card away to someone that does need it, but I’d urge the AFFL to take a more focused approach and suggest their funders demand more efficiency from this organization.

A friend of my mine is one of the recipients of their food cards allocation thru TCDSB. During this covid 19 crisis we are facing, food cards means a lot for families in need. Hats off to the staff and management and their sponsors and donors who work so hard to raise funds for the kids. I believe in you.
