Sunny the Banana is representative to how warm the climate of Manitoba can be, or so he thinks. Just because this is the Banana Belt of Manitoba don't expect to find Sunny snow free in the winter. Is he worth coming to see? Probably not if you have to drive any distance to get here but if you happen to be passing through Malita swing by and say hi.

Sunny is the best 30ft tall banana I've ever seen. My daughter and I had a great time taking our picture with sunny and wondering what in the world it was doing there. Big kudos to whomever thought Sunny was a good idea, and then executing on that vision!

Sunny the banana and his little side kick Breezy. Nice place to pull off the road and eat as there is a covered shelter to eat under. The day we went was crippling hot and we retreated into the air conditioning of the subway restaurant close by on the other side of the tracks. There is a guest book to sign too so you can let the world know you were here.

This little town is quite the place. From the variety of restaurants, grocery stores, bakery, banks, post offices, building supply stores, and hotels or motels, it's jam backed with amenities. For those looking to engage in some history, there's a museum, and just the buildings and houses in town have a beautiful historical appeal. There's the hospital, daycare, and of course the school if by chance you are considering it your new home buyers option or moving to the area.
I personally enjoy the Lions Park or simply going for a walk in this friendly little town. It's a safe, quiet little community, worth considering for a visit or a permanent move to.

It would have been a nice spot to sit down and have a picnic at the tables on site. Unfortunately the day was cold and extremely windy. In spite of it's location in the banana belt. lol
