Great layout with several double level greens, clubhouse is packed with all the golf stuff needed. I was surprised however that the course had several dried out areas and bare, although it hadn't been extremely hot yet. Greens where ok but overly watered and spungy.

Lose/Lose experience.

Just an incredibly poor experience and terrible job done by the head professional. We booked a time indicating that we had a couple of trail cards as we have done for 6 years and we show up to find out that one guy won’t honor them.
When we booked, we specifically booked a later time indicating we had trail cards as we are traveling to the area from Victoria on an annual guys trip.

Here we are bringing 4 guys for lunch, bringing two more full green fees, full payment on carts, spending money on the cart service, etc. However, the staff are so poorly trained and fail to comprehend customer service 101 or basic business principles.

The customer/guest is always right…especially when they are right!

There was no reason to be so ridged, unapologetic and rude.
The course is great and well kept but we won’t be spreading the word like we have in the past and everyone lost. No lunch and no tips for service, no business for the cart girl and we only dropped $400 at the next club on golf shirts and balls.

Next year we either skip this course completely or book out the tee sheet and cancel 5 days in advance to circumvent the fine print.

There’s much better people in this industry and it wasn’t hard to find other professionals with the same view about “Story creeks” management.

Bad experience with head pro Steven today. He did not contact me in time to let me know about today’s cart path only.
Being a physical handicapped golfer I understood but after I travelled from Parksville about 90 mins away I thought I would be able to negotiate a reasonable rate as I would not know how many holes I would be able to do with the rule.
He said he was sorry and would “not barter”. He apologized and I do not accept his apology. I been to hundreds of golf courses and all are flexible.
Steven was not.
Offering a rain check was not an out for him after paying almost $200 for 2 people.
I would have given you a 0 but…..
Try to be more understanding And flexible next time Mr. Head Pro!

Beautiful course in amazing condition. Had a great time playing there with some friends. Has a mix of technical tough holes with some good holes where you can take out the driver. Only complaint is that the course marshall was hounding us to play quicker even though we were waiting for the group in front of us for every shot. He was really power tripping and through me off my game. Kinda ruined a good golf experience

Golf Pro Haley greated me at the pro shop. Got me sorted quickley for my first time at Story. What a beautiful course one of the nicest on the island. Just Wow

this and excellent well maintained park like course. it is a well designed layout that will have you using every club in your bag. a good range, chipping and putting areas provides all the preparation you need to engage the course challenges. service in the shop and restaurant was great.

Great shape, lots of character, and beautiful scenery. Lots of ball marks on the greens weren't repaired though - I've never seen that many before, so I was repairing them as I found them. Has to be top 5 on Vancouver Island.

One my favorite courses on the island. Stunning, well maintained, every hole makes you feel like you're alone on the course. The course Marshall was the only thing we could complain about. Aggressive and power hungry, but if you can put that aside it's one of the best courses around.
