LANDLORDS BEWARE: Take note. I Would never recommend helping this program. I've always have been open to helping people with housing, but after my current situation, I have to advise you to RUN instead.

First and foremost, I was told the person I was helping was a good guy and had never had issues with being evicted. Well imagine my surprise when almost immediately after moving in he began violating the terms of his lease, became argumentative with me, confrontational with other tenants and was sporting an ankle monitor.

Not only did he not put the hydro in his name as per his lease (yep we are still getting the bills 4+ months later) but shortly after moving in, someone came and kicked his door down requiring the door to be replaced. St. Leonard’s kept this secret from me and I only found out as I saw unathorized handymen walking in our building. Just this past week I had another upset tenant because they came home to find one of his friends at the entrance to the building with a knife out, prying it in the door, as this guy just stood there.

Everything is always an issue.
Signed a lease with no smoking on property and he opted for no parking yet is argumentative because for whatever reason he thinks these rules are up for debate. The only time anything is resolved is if I serve an eviction notice. Unfortunately just asking him to follow the rules of his lease doesn't work.

We've had numerous occasions where his guests park in other tenants' paid spots leaving them no where to park. He also thinks the parking lot is a perfect place to set up lawn chairs which is causing problems for both my residential and commercial tenants. We have had multiple occasions of people kicking the entrance door in the middle of the night. It's disruptive to everyone.

The biggest deal breaker for me though is several police officers have told me this person is a well known drug dealer in London. What did I get myself into?
I WANT OUT!!!!!

So do I think he's a good guy? - no.

Do I feel tricked? - absolutely.

Is St. Leonard’s Helping me? - so far they have been paying for the damages but they seem unable to control this person's behavior. After feeling abused we've told him to put everything in writing and not speak/confront me directly but he refuses, instead opting to badger me at every opportunity. He told me he will continue doing so unless I get an order against him. He has zero respect for business hours and has no problem calling extremely late at night or very early in the morning over non-emergenies. I live on site so there's no where for me to escape. I've had to block his number as I need my phone on 24/7 for emergencies and he doesn't respect any boundaries. Personally I like not being woken up and I can do without the text messages telling me off.

My intention is to go to the tribunal to remove him because not only do I suspect him of doing illegal acts, both myself and other tenants feel terrorized by this person. It's impacting my health and at the end of the day scaring my other tenants. Bottom line he is impacting my ability to manage the building and impacting others ability to reasonably enjoy their units. I've requested to break the lease, but he would rather force me to take him to court. I do not feel supported by St. Leonard’s.

What they say is true, no good deed goes unpunished.

Gone are my days of living in peace and quiet.

Please don't make the same mistake I did.
I can not say strong enough what a horrible experience this has been.

St Leonard's has been awesome, and has helped us over and over again. My family has never been left without support and are nonjudgemental.

The sil program at st Leonard's have called the cas on me about 6 times now as of 2 days ago for being around kids under 14 and accusing me for being alone with kids under the age I've had 3 staff fired for contacting cas and I'll do it again and again. And the sil staff try to say they have power over the stuff I do and where I live so I don't recommend these people in this facility

Is this even a community service centre? It shouldn’t be called this, staff in here are rude and racist. Unfortunately i have to give them a star in order to post this but they don’t even deserve one star.

The staff is very helpful and if you are doing volunteering, community service they will help you find a place that's right for you.
