Thanks guys beautiful place, friendly helpful people...UPDATE still beautiful, not do friendly and helpful anymore.... If you're thinking about a picnic, don't. Security will roll up on you in 5 mins telling you to leave... Think about relaxing on a beautiful day on a beautiful field, don't, security.
Nice place to look at, abundant history, but friendship center it isn't... Residents discriminate, employees judge, this place went from a haven to a picture.... "Just look don't touch... Your hand are dirty and we are snobs".... Sorry guys didn't realize this chunk of dirty amongst a hundred homes surrounded by piles of garbage.... With piles of garbage in it as well may I add...."the pit"..... Aptly named....a pit full of needles, paraphernalia galore and do much garbage a bin would never hold it.... And may I add......I am not the least bit racist as this band has turned out to be..... But these piles of garbage are not from the 2 or 3 white people who associate with their native friends there.....oh no..... These white boys respect your native land and find it appalling..... Yet you judge us, discriminate against us, and blame us..... When you sent security to kick me off the land for opening a tent..... Only to wash it and air it out..... Never as a shelter..... As a gesture of appreciation, while my Chemainus no. 11 band with Cowichan roots (Pierre) had a nap...I spent hours cleaning the garbage of the field that was not put there by myself..... To still have your vehicle's state me down, security telling me to leave repeatedly as they received call after call after call about a white boy seeing up camp......
I raised my daughter to never see skin color, race, creed, sex, age..... But this Cowichan tribe who burnt down my shelter on island corridor foundation land seems to all have been brought up wrong and completely judge without knowing a single thing about the person..... You burnt down a fellow tribe members shelter, a fellow human beings shelter! During the drought yet!!!! There are cameras everywhere I hope you all get charged with mischief arson.... There was a burning ban in effect.... What did you have the fire department on the ready? Because I didn't hear any sirens! Just the RCMP questioning if we burnt our own stuff down.... Funny right? DEFINITELY NOT FUNNY HAHA EITHER!
It was a criminal act what you did, now what has to happen? I imagine that since I'm publicly writing this the RCMP as well as the band will all be investigated with this incident!
Maybe you should take a lesson from my 9 year old daughter and be happy to see these people..... No matter who, no matter where they're from, no matter what their income.... They have a story..... And you really think they like living like this?
My government made me homeless to take my daughter from me..... Numerous branches assisted the Mcfd in making me..... No record.... Working stiff.... Look like a devil..... And I still help people...... Because that's the way it's supposed to be....... Get it?

Owned and operated by Cowichan Tribes. I was married here, had naming ceremonies for my daughter here, and used their kitchen and dining room facilities. Plenty of parking. Bleachers, chairs and floor mats available for use. Staff is either on site or nearby. Many programs occur throughout the year. Reserve your meeting early. Reasonable rates.

Needs a kitchen upgrade, the owner is the chief and he likes to just ignore any upgrading on the gym for our youth.
