Another exciting week, another inspiring visit!

Following my recent trip to my first retirement residence with Cogir, I felt inspired to explore more—and this time, I made my way up to the beautiful town of East Gwillimbury to visit Sharon Corners, a newly built, resort-style retirement community.

A huge thank you to Executive Director John for the warm welcome and for introducing me to his fantastic team. It was a pleasure meeting and connecting with team members Adrian, Lusia, Nadia , and Bassil—so great to meet you all in person!

The community truly speaks for itself. From the stunning suites and cozy lounges to the salon, art studio, game room, and active living spaces—this place has it all. Not to mention a spa room, library, greenhouse, dog park and wash station, and even a piano that greets you at the entrance. This was a first for me, and I was thoroughly impressed!

Located just minutes from the amenities of Newmarket, Sharon Corners offers plenty of parking and everything residents could need within a 10-minute drive.

One of the highlights? Seeing the residents in action during an acrylic painting session in the art studio—so much creativity and talent! The energy was vibrant, and the residents were incredibly welcoming and proud to share their work.

And of course, I can’t forget the delicious omelette sandwich—thank you to Chef Michael for the amazing hospitality!

Our father moved into Sharon Corners one month ago and we couldn’t be more happy with our decision. The staff, Linda, Basil, Nadia, nursing staff, and so many others have made this into a seamless transition. There are so many activities, amenities and it is so well maintained. We experienced Sharon Corners at its finest today, both in practice and quick thinking. During a mealtime attendance check our mom was found in distress in her apartment. The staff member quickly alerted the nursing team who assessed her and then contacted the paramedics. Thanks to the extraordinary team effort of Bassil and Meghan, it was a positive outcome for our mom and gratefully appreciated by our family.

Had a wonderful time today at Sharon Corners. My Mom is a resident there and we made use of beautiful community kitchen for a small family get together. The staff are so friendly and helpful, especially Bassil!! The kitchen space is just like home!!

Sharon Corners is an impressive retirement community for seniors. The state of the art building with beautifully appointed , spacious common spaces and apartments is just the beginning.
The staff at Sharon Corners are friendly, caring and attentive making residents feel supported and valued.
What is remarkable is how the community has evolved into a vibrant, inclusive space for seniors to enjoy life. It has only been open eight months . The variety of daily activities and social gatherings has fostered a cohesion among residents creating a fun and exciting community.
The food is excellent with a la carte menu offered at every meal to accomadate all diners.
I recommend Sharon Corners retirement living for its excellent care, amenities and warm atmosphere.
