In my opinion this Credit Union should improve on their friendliness and EFFICIENCY! Extremely inefficient branch to have one cashier open (who is new) and 5 people waiting to be served.

For the last few years, I have had clients deal at Servus Credit Union in Westlock. When I have entered the branch to make a deposit for the client, I was greeted with less than a smile or a can I help you attitude. If you don't go in with the account number ready, they will not take the deposit. I have been told that they cannot look up the clients account number. I have been made to feel like I was a nuisance.
I have also deposited cheques for clients( clients that have been at Servus for several years)that have had holds placed on them even though they have had several cheques from the same client. I mentioned on one occasion that I need to process payroll and, I was told in a condescending and cheeky way, that I better not write any cheques. I felt that I was treated like a customer that didn't matter or that I was just an inconvenience.
There have been times when I have wanted to deposit cheques for Not for Profits organizations and if the cheque was not exactly like the account name, they would not accept the cheque. They even made a note on the account not to accept those kinds of cheques. Every time I have been in that Credit Union, the service, or rather the lack of service, has been so disappointing.
I have many clients in my business, I always suggest another institution to bank with. Never have I suggested that they go to Servus. I am even in the process of having some clients move from Servus to another bank.
I will say, the only time that the service was good, was when you had people in from another branch filling in for a staff member.

When I went to transfer my investment into my chequings account, I was told as I was signing about the fee I was about to incur (which was significant). When I looked at the fee breakdown brochure I opted to choose a different, less expensive option. I was told that it was already too late and I had to pay the fee. Someone who is supposed to be looking after thier customers would have offered this alternative without having been asked. I will never bank with Servus again

I have had some very pleasant dealings with the staff at this bank since my wife passed away in January. They have been really helpful through this difficult transition. The only reason I don't give the branch 5 stars is because of the early closing at 3pm Mon, Tuesday's and Wednesdays. I really think the branch should be opened later.
