We worked with Renovation Science for the remodel of a home we purchased in 2023, and we couldn’t be happier with our decision. David had previously renovated my sister’s home, and based on her glowing recommendation, we knew we were in good hands. From the start, David proved to be not only reliable and responsible but also incredibly thoughtful and budget-conscious.

He truly took our financial constraints to heart and worked closely with us to find creative solutions that met our vision without exceeding our budget. The tradespeople he brought in were equally professional, skilled, and kind, which was especially important since we lived in the house throughout much of the renovation. Having trustworthy, considerate people around our family made the process so much easier.

Anytime we encountered a challenge, David worked hard to resolve it in a way that didn’t compromise quality or strain our finances. Even after the project was completed, David remained responsive and quick to address any questions or small adjustments we needed. It’s clear that he takes pride in his work and stands by it, which gave us great peace of mind.

We wholeheartedly recommend David and Renovation Science to anyone considering a home renovation!

It was great working with David on the re-pipe and small renovation of our townhouse. We replaced poly-b pipes, replaced a tub, tile, floor, and vanity, as well as a few other small items throughout the home. The trades were on time and the project was done without delays. David’s carpenters were especially professional and cleaned up after they were done each day. David was a great communicator and brought the project in on the projected budget. We would hire him again and recommend him.

Renovation Science recently completed a full renovation of our kitchen, master bedroom ensuite and other areas. We were very satisfied with all aspects of the project from start to finish. David, Ronald and all the sub-contractors involved were always professional, highly skilled and, importantly for us, super easy to deal with. Throughout the project, they were responsive to our sometimes evolving requirements and two-way communication was always excellent. As part of the renovation, we took the opportunity to implement a comprehensive home automation system, which they were very supportive of, and the result has been outstanding. Renovation Science, with its President David Martin, is a highly skilled, efficient and reliable renovation company. We were fortunate to cross paths with David and the Job Supervisor, Ronnie, last Spring when we were considering renovating our kitchen. They took in all our thoughts, possibilities … and limitations, and provided a detailed prospect for re-doing the space within our budget and expectations.

As the work commenced we found, time and again, the crew went out of their way to minimize disruption and eliminate mess. David managed the overall operation, was regularly on-site, arranged sub-contracting where needed and performed the electrical upgrading himself. Also, we received periodic reports / accounts from David which recorded every cost, to date, and the purpose of it. We were always clear as to what was underway, how and when it would be completed and its cost. All costs were kept within the original estimate and plan. As a result, our renovation was completed on time, on target and with no surprises.

At the same time, our external back stairs had deteriorated with age, so David and Ronnie made the time to rebuild the stairs as well. They’re as solid as they come. I know this as I’ve done my own share of building and renovating.

We first encountered David because our next door neighbour was having his kitchen redone and we were curious about his experience; hence, our introduction to the Renovation Science team. We can now report our own parallel success along with our neighbour’s project, which was much more challenging structurally than ours. Interestingly, our kitchen was a completely different style (country cottage look) than our neighbour’s streamlined and modern “chef’s kitchen”. David was easily able to understand our different visions and transform them into reality.

In short, we cannot recommend Renovation Science, David Martin and his crew more highly. Given the stories we’d heard about renovations going sideways, we were leery about taking this on. We needn’t have been. Renovation Science was, and is, on top of every step along the way.

David and his team, Ronnie and Thomas, did a great job on our kitchen renovation. They were knowledgeable, conscientious and meticulous about details. The day's work always began as scheduled and when necessary, work continued on the occasional weekend in order to stay on schedule.
When a cabinet measurement overlooked the placement of a ceiling pot light, David came the next day, a Saturday, to reposition the existing pot light and install an additional one. This is the care and attention to detail that one can expect from Renovation Science.
Communication was excellent and there was never any doubt as to the progress or status of the project.
Our job was a fairly small one by Renovation Science standards, but we never felt treated like a "side project" because of this.
Timelines were adhered to and the kitchen was completed on time and under budget.
You can expect a job well-done at a very fair price and with no drama or stress.
We have no hesitation in recommending Renovation Science for your next home renovation big or small.
