I was sick. I was scared. I was broken. Everyone was against me. The System was crushing me and I had abandoned all hope. Then somewhere in the distance a light appeared in the darkness. It was The Regina Anti-Poverty Ministry. I can't say enough about the team of Peter Gilmer and Colleen Taylor. They stood up to The System for me - and won. And that has made all the difference in my quality of life. They can do they same for you, too. To quote the introduction to the 1980's situation comedy The A-Team: "If you have a problem, if no one else can help, and if you can find them - maybe you can hire The A-Team." The good news is you can find them at 2330 Victoria Avenue during business hours every Monday though Thursday (please call ahead first) and their services are absolutely free. In these hard times the little guy needs every break he can get and in this town there's no bigger break than the help of The Regina Anti-Poverty Ministry. They are The A-Team of Regina. No doubt about it.

I won't go here again for help. The first time Bonnie helped getting a new place to live. Unfortunately Regina Housing gave me a a rough time from the beginning. They evicted a walking disabled senior without cause. Once again I went to Regina Anti-Proverty Ministry who made a few calls. Peter said they would hurry up and get a place asap. Yes they made a few calls and the last one they couldn't face me on. I was sitting on my scooter outside their office door which they closed. One had been on a call about a place and once she was finished they must of been by the door when one says to the other if they are that fussy there's no point in helping her. With a promise to make some more calls I left. The next call was to say this one was her last week there and good luck with my search. In two weeks I will loose everything even to my scooter as I have no ware to go.
