Quinte Conservative or as the locals know it Potters Creek. We take our family and dogs here year round and the paths are usually pretty well maintained. Not always but usually. In the winter not at all tho and it's like skating on snow ice rink the first 5 minutes in lol, but once you get past it and to the trails with tree coverage it's manageable and painfully beautiful as you can see in my pictures. It's more of a feeling than seeing tho. It's so quiet, serene and clean with the snow blanketing and soundproofing everything in the winter. It's very peaceful.
In the summer the paths aren't always mowed down so the grass is long and you might pick up some tics the odd time.
Depending when you go year round is how many people will be there, but it's usually not to to bad. In the summer on really nice days it gets really busy, but just walk deeper into the trails and it gets quiet again.
The farther you go into the trails the less people you will see and for some reason the better the trails are more worn down IMO. I'm assuming from the animals since we've never encountered people when we're back in the farthest area of the trails lol.
Overall tho this my favorite trail to do is Belleville because of the lack of people and the nature and wildlife!

FYI:
-Because it's a conservation you might run into some deer and the odd other wildlife sometimes. Especially in the last bit of summer and during fall.
-This is an amazing place to do photoshoots! Especially when the apple trees bloom and the apples fall everywhere in the autumn. 🍂🍁🍃
-It's dog friendly also. It's an on-leash trail, but if you respect others and theirs and most people won't mind if you let yours off-leash if your dogos are friendly!

We were greeted with a nice warm smile and didn't have to wait long for help. The lady that helped us was new to the job but she knocked it outta the park once she got going. Gave us great info and tips and we were on our way again. There are nature trails in the back that let you get some exercise and fresh air...

Relatively new to the area & am LOVING the conservation areas...well, some of them, making this review confusing! At $65 their annual pass is a GREAT deal esp if you do alot of family & pup hikes like we do, as a daily pass is $7.
DEFINITELY check out the trail you're thinking of going to on a popular trails map to get up to date accurate conditions. We use alltrails & read the reviews from recent hikers before selecting. Some of the conservation areas can be flooded in the spring/fall & these areas could be better planned for/communicated. Ie the beginning of the trails are not marked as flooded, you may get a good distance then have to turn around. The locations are incredibly varied & no matter what you're looking for, breezy waterfront, forest or city trail, they have it all!

We used to love it and now it's sub-par. Fewer trails at potters, poor communication with the community for upcoming plans, terrible maintenance at frink center which half is now blocked off for schools only. And on top of that now charging for parking. They say the parking charge covers property taxes but what about the costs of these high tech parking gates? How did they pay the taxes for years before the gates? At the end of the day, it means less offered for more cost for the user. I've been to much better run conservation areas. This place needs a big rethink. I also wonder how much their salaries have increased since implementation of the parking fees.

Decent trail area to explore. Just not super secluded feeling as it’s closer to the busy road.

Use to be a nice spot for a walk but after recent years wind storms trees are down all over the place and any wildlife has left the area. New this year they made it gated so you require some pass to enter. Sad but in these times you cant even go for a walk for free anymore. Use to enjoy taking our daughter for a walk here but going to hard pass paying to walk in the woods, plenty of places to do that for FREE. What a joke.
