Honestly the worst hospital I’ve ever encountered. I went there 2 days in a row last month begging for some mental health support. After 2 days of shaking and balling my eyes out in front of them and telling them I need help and a safe place as I was so depressed. The lady said I’m being ridiculous and told me to leave. I literally just sat there in one of the mental health ward rooms in emergency, wasn’t causing a problem. Yet they still let me leave when I said I didn’t feel safe with myself and I didn’t know what would happen once I left. Legally if someone says they might hurt themselves you’re supposed to take them in with the mental health act. If I hadn’t driven 5 hours to come to Vancouver to get the help I’m getting now (which was the hardest and scariest drive and I should have been driving in that state or released from a hospital!) I don’t know what would have happened. Try hiring some nurses that want to actually help people and not make them feel like they are more of a burden then they already feel like. You guys could be saving lives but instead you guys made me feel worthless. I’ll forever share this story with people around there because I don’t wanna see someone end up hurting themselves because they went to a hospital with nurses who want the credit for being a nurse but won’t do the work to actually make an impact and save someone’s life. Luckily I got out and I’m now getting help from nurses and mental health support workers who care and actually want to see me succeed.

Took my 85 year old father in for a hernia operation. From reception to discharge at the day surgery unit, the experience was fantastic. Made him feel comfortable under stressful circumstances. Thank you all !

I was visiting from Saskatchewan and had to go to the emergency dept. I was recieved right away and saw a doctor within an hour for diagnosis and treatment of an infection with IV antibiotics daily for 4 days then given perscription for oral enough to allow me to get back home. It was a very positive experience.

My wife just had a hip replacement yesterday. From the time we walked in to when we left that afternoon, the volunteers, staff, nurses, doctors, and surgeon were nothing short of over the top with professionalism, caring, and kindness. I'm sorry for those with negative reviews, but I think that the hospital and the staff are the best.

I had a major gash above my wrist, totally opened up and I could plainly see my tendons. I wrapped it in vet wrap and drove 45 mins to the penticton hospital. The staff there were fantastic. I was seen by an ER Dr., given pain control medication examined, That gash required 16 stitches. I was well cared for. The nursing staff there were great. Thank you Dr Matt

Waited 9+ hours for an x-ray and every single person after me was discharged before me. Lady at the front desk was rude when I politely asked where I could get a cup of water. Would rather break another bone than come back here.

Bullshit security, kicking family members out when visiting a family member, and keeping the person causing the problems in. Not doing their jobs properly. Had a fainting spell at the hospital and they thought that I was attacking them... I wasn't, I was fainting.

Went in with a really bad ankle sprain. Despite it being busy I was triaged and called into the side room within 30 mins of arrival. The duty doctor saw me within 10 mins ,sent me for an xray, diagnosed and treated me as soon as she had the results. I was back out in under 2 hrs total.

Everytime me or my wife have been there we have had the same great service

It's clean and safe and the staff are great

Having come from the UK where you can expect a minimum of 12 to 18 hrs waiting in most ERs all over the country we should be grateful for this hospital

Better the devil you know as they say

Go up
