We did our puppy spay here and the staff were very friendly, it saved us a bundle compared to our local vet. They provided a onsie to help keep her incision safe as she healed. Our puppy had a reaction to her sutures and I took her back for a follow up where they did a full exam gave me all the information I needed and didn’t even charge me. I highly recommend them they are great!

We recently adopted two wonderful dogs, Muffin and Daisy, from the SPCA shelter, and the experience was truly exceptional! As first-time adopters, we were a bit nervous about visiting a shelter, but the staff made us feel right at home. Everyone was friendly, patient, caring, and deeply compassionate, showing their genuine love for the animals in their care.

A special shout-out to Cassandra and Avery for their outstanding customer service! They went above and beyond to answer all our questions with warmth and expertise, making the adoption process seamless and stress-free. They even took the time to share helpful tips on settling Muffin and Daisy into their new home, which made the transition so much smoother.

The shelter itself was clean, well-organized, and clearly focused on the animals’ well-being. We could see how much love and effort the entire team puts into ensuring every pet is cared for and ready to find their forever home. Thank you, Cassandra, Avery, and the entire SPCA team, for making this such a memorable and joyful experience. We’re beyond grateful for our new companions and highly recommend this shelter to anyone looking to adopt!

We came in to see about adopting a cat. They were clearly very shortstaffed that particular day (an illness is going round)
I was unsure of what I wanted, and I had no clear direction which makes the process longer. Each staff we encountered were great; they were admittedly a little overwhelmed but that didn’t diminish the great service we got. Our new little girl, Francis, is awesome and appeared to be very well taken care of and well set up (we ended up being in several rooms during our visit and all the animals were so well taken care of, very clean etc)
At first, it may appear to be expensive to Adopt a cat, but in the end, what we received (much more than expected or even hoped for)
for the price we paid was not something you could even begin get if those services were individualized.

Just a note, Francis came from a Kenora clinic (due to fires there) so she had potentially been through a lot. There was a note specific to the new owners of Francis asking us to please contact them when she got settled with us and let them know how she’s doing, and they could provide a little more detail on her original situation. Everything that must be going on up there and they want to know about each specific animal. I don’t know what to say, but exceptional all the way around!

Keep up the good work! Excelent protocols in place and lovely facility for our furry ones. Will always recommend people around me to adopt at any SPCA, but especially this one.

I'd give less of a review if I could, so unprofessional on the phone, they do not listen, they speak over you and in the end, I was hung up on, all this because I wanted to know why the open at 10 am sharp, online registration was not in fact open at 10, it was 10:05, then I was kicked off b4 finishing application, when I called they denied that it opened so late and hung up on me, this is bullying behavior, laughable as their answering message states, they will not be mistreated, disrespected or harassed. They're the ones being disrespectful to the public. I would never recommend using their services.

The staff are honestly amazing here. Thoughtful, thorough, kind and very responsive. Answered all of our questions. Drop off was so smooth and went better than I thought. I didn't have any hesitation leaving our girl here. It's been a week since surgery and I had a question.. I emailed a photo and within minutes I had a call back with an answer (she was also very polite and didn't seem rushed and took the time to explain everything!)

They were so insightful about the best ways to approach adopting a cat. They take care of the animals as best as they can. I went there on Saturday and Sunday I came home with a cat I adore. I don't regret going to them for help because they will insure you a good rate with shots and spay/neuter costs included. Plus they have some good offers that help out first time pet owners with costs.

Was a great experience! They were very organized both dropping off my pet and picking up my pet. Looked after my feline fur baby very well even though she was spicy with them.
