I have been with the NSM LHIN for a year now. Our case coordinated Joanne has gone above & beyond for us. I transitioned my care from one LHIN to the NSM LHIN and the process was seamless. All of our services were made readily available. The home care nurses were amazing. We will miss our wonderful RN Valerie G.

Terrible communication, I have left 6 messages in the past 2 weeks with not one call back including one to a manager. I have dealt with at least 4 coordinators since my mother was diagnosed with late stage Alzheimer's and only one was helpful, with at least one giving wrong info. All were rushed and didn't explain the processes. Extremely ineffective organization

This organization is a disgrace and an embarrassment. My 93 year old mother was getting two hours per day and they changed to twice a day and nothing on weekends.. With eventual plan for once per day total 7 hours. They realized at one point they made a mistake and had not started once a day in time thus she had received 2 extra hours. Rather than it being their mistake they cut two hours from her scheduled visits. Overpaid useless no wonder Doug ford axed the LHIN network

Im not happy with this company, I’ve been waiting almost a week for a call. I called on Friday and today left a message for someone to call me back. My surgeon put in another request on Thursday, I had to change my own bandage over the weekend. I had a massive surgery with drains, I had to do it all myself. Including purchasing all the products. luckily I had a Saint Elizabeth nurse who did my picc line a couple years ago and showed me how to care for my bandages and drains. My surgeon wasn’t happy today when I let her know. How can this happen, this is literally your job, yet here we are.

terrible inhumane, management. they cut off all our services because i took my family away for more than 30 days, LHIN response was "thats our policy" the management shouldn't be working with old disable people. they canceled all our baths and showers services. I had no help for months they put me at the bottom of the list because of a ridiculous policy. I still don't have full services. I had our essential services in place for years because we needed them. they just canceled them. I did everything right. but they don't care their policy is if you are away more than 30 days from the area your service are canceled. "to bad. thats our policy" The management staff is inhumane,

My advice: Don't get sick! The system is broken and doesn't seem like it will be fixed anytime soon. Even though I have encounter a few "nice" women, they have no authority to get anything done. My mother needs 24/7 care and receives 10 hours per week AND WeCare, the Agency is a joke. They cancel often sometimes with no notice and the notice you get is a call at 6 a.m. from some phone worker in another Province to wake you up to say no one will be there at 7 a.m. "sorry"... If you can't care for your parent you are in big trouble. It is exhausting and financially unsustainable. Their solution is to push your parent into LTC. Alzheimer's patients beware that it is a long an difficult haul. You get very little help. If it were not for the private care company owner I would lose my mind. This however is extremely costly and cannot last long. Be prepared to give 80 hours per week of your own time to care for your parent and then put out 6000. per month on top of that. I have opted to get my parent in a retirement home while waiting for community home LTC. This however also has a waiting list of 6 months or more (LTC has a waiting list of 2 to 5 years) This will cost the same as we are putting out now but without spending all of our time caring ourselves. I have been at this 2 years and it damages your health, family relationships, your property maintenance and your sanity. Hey, I have an idea!! Why doesn't the Government put all those resources into training PSW's, job fares or pay and manage the PSW workers by cutting out the middle man (The Agencies) so these hard working women get paid more and are more motivated to show up to work and more willing to take on this type of job. Guess what? Alzheimer's will become an epidemic very soon and we baby boomers are going to be S.O.L. if we don't have a minimum of a million dollars when 70 years of age hits us. I am not dramatizing...that is the REALITY. So much for giving 45% of my wages to tax over the past 30 years!
Signed, discouraged and frustrated and feeling helpless.

Disappointing to ready the negative comments here. I realize it can be a struggle, but this group is Government funded. Can't wrong them for not being able to do everything.
I am rating how I am because while they had difficulty meeting ALL of my mother's needs, they did their absolute best. Thank you for the support you gave my mother, and in connection, my sister and I, in a time of need. Keep doing the work you are, it's valued.

I don't understand what's the point of Lhin take over CCAC when they don't do anything for the clients. They are the worse of the worse. They don't do anything to help but make it worse. They don't listen and they allow the agency like SE Health to take away 15 minutes of your hour so the psw can use it for travel time. What kind of load of excuse that is. And yet Lhin agrees and sticks up for them saying that there is a shortage of psw. Ok so what. Than hire more psw. That should not be our problem or to have that taken out on client's care. So a lot of psw take that to their advantage and even leave earlier and yet they still get pay for a full hour. And they do that to all the clients. So when you think about it...all those 15 minutes from each hour that the clients is suppose to get service, it adds up to a lot. I wonder who gets all those 15 minutes worth of money and pocketed for themselves when those time are supposed to used to help the clients in their time of needs. When you asked Lhin about it they don't seem to care among other problems too. But if they are not looking out for the clients, which is suppose to be their main role. Than what is really suppose to be their job. Isn't is to provide the clients the help and services that they need. I find that CCAC is much better and yes they did take the funding for themselves and that's why they are no longer exists. But the last CCAC case manger we had actually help us a lot. Thank god for her. We had been waiting for more than 3 years to get a day program and when she came for a home visit that was the first thing she did was made sure my brother got into a day program. Made sure that he had a proper health care at home. Made sure he got his full hours, that he was time specific, that he got a regular psw, and that they don't keep canceling on him, and so on. And on top of that she made sure he was safe, which he was not with some of the psw. He had bang his head, food shove down his throat, sugar added to his food when his a diabetic, when he asked for help, the psw ignore him, we had the psw come in basically flooded the washroom and the water leaked into our basement, and so on...the list is endless. But Lhin doesn't care nor does SE Heath who he is with. Since Lhin took over, his schedule is all over the place, no consistence, cancels whenever, and basically Lhin let SE Heath do whatever they want. And when you asked to changed agency to get better service, Lhin will not do it. It's just sad to see our home health care going down the drain. Bottom line is that Lhin is a joke. They should of never existed. And I am totally for it to have Lhin removed. I just don't understand where are all the compassion, the care, the decentancy that all these health providers suppose to give. Are we that inhuman and only see dollar signs and forgets what's important in life...that people matter.
