RUN FOR THE HILLS - DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!! I have rented and interacted with landlords/leasing agents from BC to NL and by far the owner of Oakford Realty is the most unprofessional and ignorant person I have ever dealt with. I placed a deposit on a condo and two days before moving in he sent me the lease, I did not agree to the terms he had written as I was not informed of these prior to receiving the lease. I asked for my deposit back and he stated " not happening, good luck with that". I told him I would take him to small claims court he stated: " go ahead it wouldn't be my first time there". My advice do not use this company the owner is not to be trusted. I would have rated a Zero out of five if that option was there. I will be taking him to court.

This is a review coming from the experience of a property owner. I hired this company to manage three of my units from December 2011 to February 2012 and I was extremely unimpressed with his service and professionalism.
The following is what he achieved in a two month period:
1. He lost all the keys to one of my units.
2. He failed to listen to my instructions when advertising my property which lead to him failing to fill three vacancies that I hired him to fill.
3. He failed to collect January and February months rent from my tenants.
4. He couldn't tell me how many viewings he had for my units when I was questioning him on not following my instructions.
5. He also has a clause in his property management contract that if you sell the property while he is the property manager, you will have to pay him 5% of the sale price.
This is in addition to any legal and Realtor fees you incur from other companies. I have heard of several people who wanted to sell there property but having to wait three months until their contract was finished with this company in order to sell their property. He has a 3 month termination clause and I actually bought him out of the contract in February so that he would stay away from my properties for fear that he would lose more keys or cause damage to my property. Please, learn from my mistake and if you are a property owner you should stay away from this property management company. He does have the lowest monthly property management fee in town (7%) and this can be tempting but you get what you pay for. Stay away

I've rented from Oakford twice. Never again. Never got my damage deposit back the second time (that's called stealing). The first time I had to push hard and follow up MANY times to get it. Communication is terrible. For example when they agreed to fix the backyard which was in horrible condition I kept getting the run-around for six months. Every time I called it was another excuse about how he kept sending people but they never showed or he'd call me back on this day. No one ever showed and he hardly ever called back when he said he would. It's poorly managed. Save yourself the headache and rent elsewhere.

Positives were that we lived in peace in our home and minor things were taken care of in good time as well as one major issue when the panel/breaker went.

Renting for about 5 years from oakford. Geoff and Kim are great and any issues they are always fixed right away. Maintenance guys are very friendly and great to deal with also.

Rented a full house via Oakford Realty for about 5 years. The rent was very reasonable considering it was an older house , yet we were comfortable there so it was not an issue for us. Oakford Realty was always responsive, reasonable and fair. I had no complaints, and exited on good terms.

I rented an apartment from Oakford Rental & Realty for two years. It was a great experience! The property manager was prompt and responsive. Whenever I was faced with any issue, they were there without question. I would definitely recommend this property company to others.

I've rented a one bedroom apartment on Lime street for roughly three years. The cost of rent was more than reasonable, and any issues I've had during my stay were dealt with within 24 hours of sending an email. The only reason I'm moving is because I recently purchased a house. Otherwise, I would have no reason to leave.

I have never had to deal with a worse rental company. They will take advantage of students and add additional charges and fees hoping you never question them. You will save yourself a great deal of money and time dealing with a more honest and reliable rental company. If you do end up with Oakford, at least you have been warned, as me and my friends never had this luxury.
