We hired Nova Dry for a large scale basement digout in summer 2024. We were in a rush to get the work done so unfortunately did not take the many negative reviews here seriously. The job started out very well and the digout was done quickly and without issue. As a result, we misguidedly issued final payment before verifying the quality of the actual foundation work. Shortly after completion we realized there were very significant issues including compromised structural integrity causing drywall damage to the upper floors and a major flood with the first rain storm. We ultimately made the very costly decision to rip out some of our newly completed renovations to have the foundation and structural work redone by other companies. We are now very happy with the basement but the poor quality of Nova's concrete work remains evident in the outdoor area that we have not yet had redone. I unfortunately cannot recommend that anyone hire this company.

I can't say enough good things about this company. Their workmanship, promptness, polite communication, and professionalism are top notch. Their quote was very fair, so that I had no need to ask anybody else for a quote. In three days they completed my whole driveway and walkway in concrete, which before was chewed up asphalt with dips and gravel and cracks and it was very difficult to maneuver my hubby's wheelchair to get him in the car or on and off the Lift, and was totally impossible for me to get him to get out into the backyard on the previous walkway of patio stones. Now it is level and smooth, plus the concrete walkway allows for easy navigation into the backyard. What a crew of hard workers these guys were! They just went to it and before I knew it they were done! I am so pleased.
My first encounter with Nova Dry was last year when I called on them to put in 3 supporting jack posts in the basement and they gave me a great quote and had it fixed up in no time! They had dug three holes, poured in cement for the bases and put in the 3 support posts. Once again their crew were so focused and hard working. Now my this old house is not being supported by a pole sitting on a rock! I highly recommend these guys.

We had our concrete step redone and a concrete patio made. We are very happy with the end product and found the process to be stress free.
I’m surprised that other reviewers had issues with communication, because I found it to be pretty good. An issue arose and we were able to quickly resolve it. I also found that the crew cleaned up well, they power washed our driveway after the job was complete. I just will have to touch up our foundation paint a bit but that’s it.
I would recommend this company.

Nova Dry Basement completed an epoxy and flake floor at my house. Overall, I am disappointed in the work that was completed as well as the customer service I received.
Their communication with me throughout the job was very bad. They came and went without letting me know, and actually set off our alarm system one day. I got a call from the police to let me know they were trying to get in the garage, when I had no idea they were planning to work that day.
The attention to detail and quality of work was very low as well. They got epoxy and flake all over the baseboards and door trim because they didn't bother to use painters tape, and the floor crunches underfoot because they missed a huge spot in the middle of the floor when applying the final coating.
When they applied the polyaspartic to the floor, they didn't bother to ventilate the space properly, which caused the entire house to smell strongly of chemicals for several hours, and they didn't even answer me back when I asked for the product safety information.
Additionally, they didn't offer to come by and do a final walkthrough of the job with me, and didn't remove all of the project waste before asking me for payment.
To top it all off, they used my tools without my permission. One of my tools is actually missing now, and I'm currently waiting for its return.
I can't in good conscience recommend this company to anyone. They don't seem to care about their work at all, and it's been very stressful dealing with them.
I will update my review as things progress.
Update: It's been a few months now and they still haven't returned my stolen tool or come back to fix their mistakes. They haven't even bothered to return my texts or calls. Forget these guys and their awful ethics and morals.

Basement was demolished, new basement put in. Issues from beginning. Beware of this company!
First issue was they showed up a month before scheduled start, excavated around half my house and then didn't come back until a month later, leaving us barely able to get to our front door with a disconnected heat pump.
Terrible communication, and terrible quality of work, absolutely NOTHING up to code.
They took the decks off and did not reattach properly.
Our water pipe from the well is above ground now and will freeze constantly, when this was pointed out instead of fixing the issue they put basically pool noodles around the pipe (pipe still freezes and they don't care even though it's not to code).
Our 5.5ft basement has now turned into a 3.5 foot crawl space because they just cemented over the existing ground.
Siding is damaged and a mess, pipes got disconnected accidentally causing a huge flood (again did nothing about). Chunks just not filled in around top of foundation walls.
And our previously grassy yard is just rocks now as they didn't put any topsoil over the excavated area, so we will have to do something about that ourselves as grass will likely not grow. They couldn't even even the ground out so there's just craters in the yard.
They do not care and will not come back to fix. Trust me, find a more reliable company who won't do a hack job on your house and won't fix their mistakes.
Edited to add more photos of the hack job done (deck not properly put back, chewed up siding, unfinished concrete work, terribly uneven front yard)

We had engaged Nova Dry to solve a water problem in our basement this week. We found them to be very reliable. They showed up at the appointed time, the time estimate for the job was accurate and the crew was professional. The work was carried out to our satisfaction and we were pleased with the results, which were immediate. The crew was friendly, courteous, and informative. It was great to deal with a company that was willing and able to answer all of our questions without frustration and impatience. We would definitely recommend to anyone looking to have water problems solved.

Roger

We recently needed a foundation crack fixed and called Nova Dry Basement Systems.
Nova Dry responded faster than any of the other local companies and were very responsive, timely and professional. The repair results took care of a potential future problem. The team who did the work were informative, friendly and thorough. Their estimate and costs were reasonable.
I would recommend this company to address your foundation cracks before they become a problem!!

Nova Dry came and did a big job on our basement costing $15000 and installed a sump pump. Their workers were quite loud and we could hear a lot of cursing while they're worked. They removed stairs and didn't intend to put them back. They didn't offer us the choice of where the water would come out of the house. They chose to put it going into our driveway and onto the sidewalk and street. They were asked many times to come find a better place for it and scheduled times then didn't show up. The placement is incredibly hazardous and leaves us with potential fines from the city. We now have to pay much more to get halifax water to come resolve the issue.
