Five Stars – Exceptional Service from Sheila at North York Passport Photo Center

My husband and I had an incredibly stressful afternoon when we arrived at Service Canada, desperate to expedite his passport renewal so we wouldn’t miss our honeymoon. I was nearly in tears from the panic, and that’s when we met Sheila.

Sheila was an absolute angel in our moment of chaos. She remained calm, supportive, and showed us such genuine compassion and empathy. Not only did she take our passport photos quickly and professionally, but she also went out of her way to guide us to the correct Service Canada location, making sure we were on the right track.

What really stood out was how much she cared—Sheila even brought us a bottle of water while we were waiting, a small gesture that meant the world to us in that stressful moment. Her kindness and calm demeanor made a huge difference and helped turn our day around.

Sheila, thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Your support helped us when we needed it most, and we’ll never forget it.

Just stop looking and take your photo here. The Photographer, she’s lovely, convenient and fast. She showed me the pictures, no photoshop but she’s willing to take a couple pictures until you’re happy. Great meeting well rounded people.

Printed in minutes, passport office is rough around the corner, I’m sure you can fine cheaper around the area but I’m sure it won’t be as seamless as here.

Green P parking is available right outside, all along Elmhurst Avenue - 2 hours costs $11.

Main entrance is on the side closer to Yonge Street (marked with a pink arrow in my photo).

Was guided by a man upon entering Service Canada to make sure I was in the right line.

Super quick service, came in Friday morning, for the first step of the process was seen within 2 minutes.

Made a small mistake on the application form and the lady working the counter fixed it right away. Everything was very clearly communicated.

The second part of the process (the waiting room) had endless available seating. There was also a screen on every wall showing which ticket number was being served. Took about 8 minutes.

Second counter took a bit longer to get all the paperwork done, but still very efficient.

Was in and out in under 40 minutes.

I can’t believe it’s taken me this long to write this review! The other day I had a hectic day rushing from Newmarket to North York to renew my passport so I could fly home to my fiancé in Trinidad. When I got there, I was told my Shoppers photo wasn’t acceptable and was advised to run to the Photo Centre (they close at 4 and it was 4:01) but by the time I arrived, it was already closed.

Just as we were walking away, disappointed and unsure what to do, the kindest woman (an angel)- bags in hand, clearly done for the day, ran after us and offered to reopen the shop just to help me.
While we waited for her to return, another woman passing by overheard her say she’d be back shortly and said, “She is the sweetest woman ever.” And she truly was! Within minutes, she took my photo and sent me back on my way.

She truly saved the day. Her kindness touched both my mum and me, and we haven’t stopped thinking about her since. Thanks to her, I got my passport and get to make my flight. Her small act of kindness made a huge impact. We need more people like her in the world! She is a beautiful human being inside and out. Thank you so much for being you!!

A prompt service with attention to details. The shop has provide powder and tissue paper in case your face is shining. You can review your photo until you are satisfied. Around $28 for 2 pictures. Their lighting is much better than what I had in Walmart 10 years ago.
The location is so convenient. I have done my passport photo first then went to the passport office right after.

I came in around 10am and two people right before me and 2 after me. Wait is not long and service quality is good. Highly recommended.

Sheila is very knowledgeable in what aspects of a photo are accepted/rejected and does the job quickly! Super convenient that it’s located right beside Service Canada at the Passport Application centre too. 10/10 recommend 🙂
