Shout out to Andrew in the service department. I was looking for a pair of bindings for my wife’s cross country skis, and he said that all their bindings had been shipped to Calgary. He looked in the back and found a pair that had been their floor model. I asked what the price would be, and he said you can have them for nothing. He also said that he had finished all his work for the day so he would install them for nothing as well. He even polished the bases on the skis! Amazing service. We are all set to go now

MEC never disappoints. All staff are friendly and ready to help you with your adventure needs. I went in recently to get my first road bike fitted and Andrew at Bike Services was so passionate and helpful it made me even more excited to go for a ride! Wish all stores had as lovely people as MEC.

After being advised by a very honest individual at another store and not MEC who told me about the Pinhead wheel locks as well as the seat post clamp I needed, I went to MEC in Langley but they did not have the seat post clamp I needed nor did they advise me ahead of time that I could have simply gone to JV Bike in Vancouver who have a Pinhead package that includes everything I needed so in many ways I feel betrayed because they went ahead and did the work without telling me about this beforehand. This was nothing but for "greed" so it just goes to show that they just care about how much money they can get out of you rather than treat you respectfully and be honest. I paid about $112.00 just for your two wheel locks whereas at JV Bike in Vancouver, I could have had ALL the Pinhead products I needed including the seat post clamp for just $13.00 more. I do not recommend this store because of their deceitfulness and lack of honesty and they appear to have that "better than thou" attitude from some of those in management positions. This is just a friendly warning beforehand.

Manager Simarjit is very knowledgeable about the products and has great customer service skills. He helped us to get the products through a special order. We are very much satisfied and his management skills are amazing.

Lots of outdoors clothing and gear, but the prices, even on discounted items, seems unjustifiably high. Looked at buying a headlamp that MEC had discounted and ended up picking up the exact same model at the Langley Atmosphere for about 25% less.

The store has lots of inventory, but it seems a little disorganized, with lots of vertical organization — as if they're trying to cram as much saleable goods per square foot as possible. Couldn't find gear that felt like it would be a good use of my gift card. Same logo, but definitely something has changed since it became a company.

I’m writing this review solely to appreciate the outstanding customer service provided by Simarjit.

What a wonderful and knowledgeable person! I visited the store today to buy a hydration vest for long hikes and running, and Simarjit went above and beyond to help me find exactly what I needed.

This was my first time buying a vest, and he patiently guided me through several options. Thanks to his expertise, I ended up with the perfect Salomon running vest and hydration pack-at a great price too!

I’m extremely happy with my purchase and deeply thankful for Simarjit’s exceptional service, product knowledge, and positive attitude.

i am a member of mec since the 1980s. Rarely have i ever returned an item. I bought a $180 pair of hiking shoes in april 2024 at this mec location /langley. i wore them for light hiking off and on until oct 2024 because the shoes had ripped at the seams and at the toe area. i showed them to others and to other hiking wear store owners and they said these shoes should not break down like that in such a short time. i took the shoes to mec langley and showed the manager the shoes and asked for a partial refund or exchange. Manager was completely dismissive and said the shoes showed normal wear and tear. Told me to contact the manufacturer. i said well you sold these shoes dont you stand by them? I got No its the manufacturers problem. the manager did not even know that shoes of that brand and quality have a 2 yr warranty. Nor did the manager consult anyone in their 'shoe' dept. i sent pictures and description to the mec customer service email. i got an email back saying oh we are concerned and please send us more pictures of the shoes. i did so and never got a reply. If I can possibly avoid it i will not shop at MEC again. welcome to typical corporate hypocritical customer care.
