I love Meadow Lake Provincial Park! ♥️ From lakes, to hiking trails, to beaches and rivers and don't forget the Saskatchewan wildlife Meadow Lake Provincial Park provides a variety of activities that you can do all year long! 🚶🏊🚣🚴🎏 The mosquitos are terrible so be prepared for that but other than that I have no complaints.

We stayed for six days in Northern Cross Resort in Meadow Lake park on the south side of Lac des Isles, venturing to the north side for hiking on one of the days. The camp is very clean, and it has 4G mobile coverage if you need to maintain a Duolingo streak or upload an activity to Strava. Every day was beach day and we rented a boat to try our hands at fishing. The water is cold for swimming, but clear and doesn't get too deep too quickly. Easy place to recommend, whether you have a car and a tent, or want a bit more luxury and rent a cabin.

I have visited the Murray Doell campground twice in July 2021. It is a beautiful park with access to Lac Des Îlles. Campsite 64 has a great path down to a private beach area. There is a great ice cream shop/concession stand that had plenty to eat and reasonable prices. Ice was $5 a bag. The first trip we did was during the Western Canada heat dome and the flies were bad. The second trip we didn't see any horseflies or deerflies. I recommend this campground to anyone nearby.

Have heard good things about the hikes in Meadow Lake Provincial Park. Was super disappointed. Very poorly marked, and not upkept. Some trails are completely non existent. Tried the short loop of the gold Creek hike. Walked by the turn 3 times to find a knocked over stick leading to no trail. Also tried the wolf bay hike. After missing most of the turns and guessing the majority of the time where the trail is, it wasn't enjoyable. Management of MLPP, please slightly maintain the hike so people don't get lost/hurt

Great campground. Wish some of the flooded hikes were better marked (we did Kimble Lake Interpretive trail to Little Raspberry) as we had to backtrack quite a bit. Still a great adventure though 🙂

Overall, the park is good with decent camp sites. But some things make me think twice about going back. The cost is really high when you have to factor in entrance fees and a $12 booking fee for what is an automate booking system. As a senior I would like better rates. The roads within the park as far as I gather are not patrolled and I encountered several speeding vehicles shedding gravel all over and as result I had a lot of chips on my windshield and bodywork. I encountered one station with shower/toilet facilities out of order and a couple pit toilets that were a disgusting mess. More frequent cleaning and upkeep is a must.

So beautiful out here. Back country camp sites that range from 2km-10km hike from the nearest place to park. The staff are wonderfully friendly and helpful at the park gates and offices. If you are going to back country camp, definitely call the park office beforehand and ask questions! There are some trails that are confusing if you've never been there before, and could use more/updated signage. Some good swimming places, fish-stocked lakes, and lots of wildlife to spot along the trails.
