We are SO thankful for Meadow Lake & District Humane Society! My partner flew from Alaska to pick up our sweet little 7-8ish month old Husky mix, Nali (originally named Lainey) in April '24. They do an AMAZING job of waiting until dogs are ready to be homed before finding them their new family. They helped us get everything we needed together for Nali to fly back to the U.S. (including her spay operation and recovery a few weeks before her travel). Everything was prepared for her to get picked up, and MLDHS was so flexible with the timing. We are so thankful for all the amazing people there! Nali warmed up to her new home in Alaska so quickly and has become quite the adventure dog!! I can't recommend MLDHS enough for anybody looking for a furry companion - all the wonderful volunteers care so much about the animals and put in so much time and effort to finding homes for them. We were so lucky to become one of those homes!!!

fourteen years ago I adopted a samoyed cross, then named Vixen, who I have renamed Nanook and have to this day. She is the best dog ever and the Meadow Lake Humane Society made that possible. Thank you!

This is a very well run sanctuary for animals that were discarded by owners or found running. The volunteers that run everything are amazing and compassionate souls! Thank you for all you do !

The heart the workers put into this place for strays to lay their heads is amazing. Its a 3 and half hour drive for us and we would do it again. 5 stars all the way
