This is the place to contact if you have furniture to donate and time is tight! My father recently died in a personal care home and I needed to remove 6 pieces of furniture from his room within a few days, as the home needed the room for a new resident. For a reasonable fee, Matthew House picked up Dad's furniture within two days of my call! Matthew House collaborates with an organization called The Furniture Bank to handle the logistics. I got a tax receipt for the value of Dad's furniture, which, in our case, exceeded the cost of the pick up! They confirmed the arrangements on the day of my initial call, gave me a confirmation phone call the next day and the movers arrived on time within the appointment window the following day! There were three men in the truck, they provided their own dollies and with our help, we got all Dad's furniture out literally in minutes. Class act all around. Matthew House/The Furniture Bank has grasped the opportunity to get furniture donations by offering this quick, reasonably priced pick-up service. My dad would be so happy to know that his furniture went to a new Canadian family!
