As a family member of someone who lived in Crosslinks housing, I can’t thank them enough for their tremendous support. The staff worked relentlessly to assist us to understand and show compassion to those who have complex needs. Through their support and education, we were able to maintain our family connection and keep our loved one housed through the most difficult times. I think of the staff often and how hard it must be … knowing that there are never enough resources to help everyone, but yet they show up each day and do their best. Know that you are appreciated and make a difference!

This organization is currently providing behavioural support services for my mother who is transitioning to long term care. Our care worker is caring, kind and diplomatic but also well versed in the mechanics of the system, where the bottlenecks are and how to circumvent the roadblocks so that my mother can achieve the very best care. Our care worker, in 4 weeks, has provided us more correct information and better service than any other care worker over the past 2 years. Our medical system for senior home placement seems to be heavily biased, protective of workers' rights and weighted with misinformation while ignoring the dignity and rights of the seniors themselves. Ageism is a serious thing in our Canadian society and many of our loved aged ones are treated condescendingly and without understanding of personality differences across every person and every senior. Without a family member to advocate for their individual differences, a one-size-fits all expectation does not work. Our care worker was able to set things straight and get things moving in the right direction. Our care worker is well versed in psychology and can put herself in others' shoes. She is the biggest advocate that we have :-).

Perry Chaulk, I believe that's his name walked right up in my face while I was talking to his co worker, and told me to back up, after I just gotten a business card from him telling him I need peer support services, that I suffer from N.P.T.S.D as well as P.T.S.D and extreme anxiety disorder. There was a comment made that I wanted to clear the air by having a normal conversation. Perry then tried to cancel my food bag that's not even provided by him or let alone dictate who gets food services! The elderly woman then felt bad and stepped out the van apologetic to the situation trying to de-esculate what Perry had just caused. Peer support worker I think not! This is outrageous he is supposed to be a peer support worker, we are kiving in a time where life is getting harder. Organizations like this need to properly vet there staff before placing them in situations whete it could turn hostile. It was not safe at all what Perry did. Not for himself nor for the woman. I couldn't imagine him doing that downtown Toronto in Regent Park or Lawrence Heights, and south Jane or even Scarborough. I'm following up with the Ministry of Community and Social services. He should bot be working for this organization I recorded my interaction and went to head office on main to dhow my video. I would encourage others to do so as well, any interaction with them should be recorded. You do not not there permission its legal in Ontario.

I lived in Loft for almost 2 years. Nothing but drama and bad decisions. The staff there did nothing to help me when I was struggling at my worst with mental health issues. I wanted help and nothing good was provided to me. They need to get the situation under control cuz how bad it affecting the town of Newmarket and everyone around the community

Who do I contact about this organization treating their clients like caged animals. They are supposed to be there to help them but instead they use their mental health insecurities against them. If you have family living in the housing (it’s not this location) but the only place I can find to write. These people are ridiculous they even treat the family members and workers with no respect and abuse. They expect their workers to take on dangerous jobs and handyman jobs, they went to school to be social workers not handymen/women. I’ve spoken to the CEO and he at the time said I had 1 minute to talk and then gave the client big trouble for telling family what was happening. Who can help with this big problem. People need to speak out but everyone is too scared they will lose their housing because that’s what they get threatened with.

Wow!!! Just tried to call the Outreach Van for a sleeping bag and was told that they are not in Newmarket. Although I am actually calling them from Newmarket, I suggested maybe they could meet me at a church1 block away from their office where they park for the night, at a church they'd normally meet people at, and drop me off a sleeping bag, but was met with all kinds of opposition.
Probably gonna freeze tonight!!
Thanks Street Outreach!!!
More like Street OUTRAGE!!

LOFT had been negligent for 11 years in dealing with a bad situation. We had to take the problem to court.
