I had an unpleasant experience with one of the lawyers with Legal Aid a few years ago. I actually ended up not coming back after one session because the lawyer implied that I was mooching off my ex husband at the time for seeking the minimum alimony, despite him grooming from age 17, abused me. Almost a decade age gap. I felt gross, and I knew I would never work with her again from that encounter. I do not remember the lady's name, but I kept all paperwork, and if I was free for more time, I would clarify by looking for her name.

Well, after multiple lawyers went back to legal aid. I got this lovely lady, Jessica Chapman, who actually does her job properly! I finally get to see my son after 18 months.. it's a huge start, especially being not able to see my son for three years. Any man that takes a child from his mother at an early stage in his life..well, you know what kind of man that is... this is the reason why I am becoming a lawyer, and i am studying non-stop right now... to save my son!! My children are my world, and I would give my life for them to have a better life than mine. I have a daughter, as well, and we spend a lot of time outside in warm weather.
I understand lawyers since I have worked as a paralegal and am currently studying to become a lawyer. It's hard work mentally, and then having to deal with the emotional pain of a client makes their job harder. It is the emotional pain that clients need to control and express their emotions in a respectful, healthy way and logical, so they can win their cases. If you feel really emotional, please seek some sort of couselling to heal so that the lawyers can deal with your cases. This will help with their case load and from burning out. I will be applying again in 18 months... for the same lawyer...

I usually assist clients with their applications when they're in need of legal servies. The process is very and straightforward. Staff are nice and follow all the steps to assess and assist with the desired legal representative. The only concern is that all the costs of the legal services will have to be paid back in installments. Some clients might not have the ability to pay it back.

I guess they're over their heads, lots of needing peoples. I been denied cause I was making too much last year...even if I'm practically jobless...they go with what i did last year, not what i have at the moment i need help...
I called twice, first time lady was nice and respectful.
2nd time was another story...rude and couldn't wait to hang up

It takes awhile but understandable. Lawyers are always pretty good and very helpful. Easy payment plan that works for anybody or pay grade

Legal aid lawyers only care about filling there wallet and not about your future. I highly recommend looking else where for a lawyer because legal aid does not care about your future they only want you be in debt to them.
Legal aid managers won’t take phone calls or concerns regarding there lawyers that they are providing to the public that do nothing for you.
Legal aid is the worst customer service

Very difficult to get a hold of and seem to care very little about clear communication or helping your situation.
After spending hours on hold they are quick to dismiss you and your issues and are too impatient to allow you to finish sentences.

I just waited for hours for the 3rd time and I was cut off mid sentence, with no return call or email, and they will just make me wait for hours on hold again.
They dont care whatsoever and are doing a terrible job of ruining a service that many people depend on.

These people should be ashamed of their performance and should be fired so that people that understand the importance of their role can fill those jobs.
