The resort and scenery was absolutely beautiful! Nicole made every step of the planning process super easy. Very friendly, accommodating and helpful. We felt comfortable approaching them with any concerns we had. Our guest absolutely loved it as well, many are wanting to return to just enjoy the resort and all it has to offer! The cottages are cozy, We absolutely loved it and will go back!

We had an absolute blast. We stayed at Camp Cartier and it was perfect for our group of 8 guys. Dave and Nicole helped us with a last minute reservation and was helpful right from the very first phone call. The views were beautiful. We used the BBQ that was provided. The rooms and the beds were neat. It was a great price for a single night's stay given that kayak/canoe were also included in the package. The only problem we had were the mosquitoes at night. But overall, it was a great experience.

Mattawa River Resort has been our family home away from home! We’ve been coming here for the last five years! We don’t even look anywhere else! Staff is fantastic and treat us like family! They have all the water toys for canoeing and kayaking on the quiet Mattawa river which is great for fishing! The resort is pet friendly so bring your pet! It’s an absolute blast every time we visit! Mattawa River Resort prepared an amazing wedding dinner for us on a week’s , complete with thick, New York strip loin steaks, shrimp, double stuffed baked potatoes, carrots and salad! The food was amazing and cooked to perfection! Can’t wait to visit Mattawa again and stop in for dinner! Thank you again Nicole and your culinary team!

The view is beautiful. That’s about it. The owner Nicole is absent and everyone who ‘works’ at the resort has zero knowledge. The owner rapidly changes prices daily and pockets all money she over charges. She asks you to send e-transfer vs. Credit card to ‘save the fees’. It’s just a trap so when she changes your invoices you cannot dispute it with their auto deposit. The cabins were subpar. We are country folk and are used to roughing it. All plugs in the cabin didn’t hold anything in them. All cords plugged in fell out. Fridge didn’t keep things cold, zero hot water.|They do not maintain the boating equipment. Our girls went out on the peddle boat and the steering column was broken. They were stuck out in the river and had to be rescued by us on kayak. When we notified staff their response was ‘yeah, we know it’s broken. It has been broken for a while. Use at own risk’ our niece fell through the deck because of rotten wood boards and was injured. Thankfully she fell onto the wood deck because just on the other side of the deck was a large metal spike sticking out of wood under the water. She could have seriously been hurt. When I notified staff, zero remarks. |It appears beautiful, but all the issues make it so unenjoyable. We had a large group, two cabins, 6 people. We travelled 6+ hours away only to be shrugged off. Nicole said she was ‘busy with her foster kids’ and that was her priority. I have kids and they are my priority but you run a business. They also charge a pet ‘deposit’ Nicole will call it. It’s actually a pet ‘payment’ to bring your pet. She’ll say you get it back, but you don’t. Every single avenue or way she can manipulate money or word it nicely, or make it seem great; it’s too good to be true. When speaking to other previous people who have stayed, it is much of the same commentary. We stayed at other resorts in the area, and were treated so much better. Save your money, stay somewhere else. The beauty of a view they provide, can be found in so many other areas of Mattawa. So absolutely disappointing. I will be contacting my bank to open an investigation of the money sent to her and I will be urging my mother in law to do the same.

Beautiful, well maintained space to stay with plenty of amenities. The on-site dogs and cat are super friendly.

The homemade pizza at the restaurant was absolutely incredible.

Well it started out okay. There was availability so we could stay. Fantastic. We left a deposit of 500 via e-transfer. We get there to pay. Dave was great. They took the full amount for 1300 dollars. Hmmm. Didn’t think much of it.
Cabins are OK. There’s wifi but nobody wants to share the password (not a huge deal). You gotta supply your own linens, the beds are iffy. The cabins are small. Which would be ok. Atleast supply linens for 350 dollars a night!
Anyways we went to get our deposit back and the owner Nicole gave us the run around on our 500 and we will have to wait until Tuesday for her to send me a e-transfer back. Not happening. We have to pay before we stay, so we want our deposit back before we leave. Especially since without it back we’re 1800 dollars into somewhere we have to even supply linens. The owner is very rude, very unprofessional. Save your money here and go to the Mattawa adventure camp. Prices are better cabins are larger and the experience is nicer without people trying to rip you off.

Other than Nicole and the cabins. Dave and the other crew are great. Nicole is attempting to be a scam artist . Make sure to get your deposits back and don’t fall for her run arounds she will try to give you. I read other reviews and other people are having the same issues. Save your money. Head to Mattawa adventure camp
