The settlement and employment services I received at the LCSS were truly the most effective and supportive I’ve experienced upon arriving in Canada. Here, I felt a level of personalized, tailored assistance that went beyond just opening a file—this team genuinely cares. They provided real-life, practical recommendations, valuable references, and opportunities to gain meaningful professional experience. While the journey takes time, the dedication and sincerity of the people here make all the difference. I am deeply grateful for their support and commitment to helping newcomers succeed.

*Update: I have made inquiries into their part of the Abduction due to the following:
Abduction

283 (1) Everyone who, being the parent, guardian or person having the lawful care or charge of a child under the age of 14 years, takes, entices away, conceals, detains, receives or harbours that child, whether or not there is an order referred to in subsection 282(1) in respect of the child , with intent to deprive a parent, guardian or any other person who has the lawful care or charge of that child, of the possession of that child, is guilty of

(a) an indictable offence and is liable to imprisonment for a term not exceeding ten years; or

(b) an offence punishable on summary conviction.

At first I was hopeful, as I had a great experience with Family Services of Greater Vancouver and I thought they would be just as helpful. I was totally wrong, they (at least the main person we dealt with) do not deliver on promised counselling and therapy, lack communication skills, lie, name call, hate (but maybe they just hate men?), threaten, conspire behind your back, they're biased and discriminatory, ignore and twist information provided to suit their preconceived ideas...they're basically a cancer trying to break up our family, putting our children at risk. I am sure they were part of the kidnapping of our children, along with MCFD (along the lines of the Residential Scoop), but that has to be proven in court still. Hopefully they have some good people, but they upset my wife every time they talk with her and our putting our children's and my wife's health in jeopardy, as they continue to manipulate her and create so much stress for her. I am a parent with decades of experience and education in parenting, including child psychology, as well as having coached many young children over the past several decades, so this type of treatment is very difficult to take. I have taken care of my 5 children (3 are adults now), many nieces, nephews and children of friends. I have been involved in coaching and teaching thousands of children to young adults, as well as being a Peer Mentor at college. I have been in many parent groups in schools, serving on many committees, including Health & Safety district wide. We do have 2 young special needs children, one in particular who has a higher risk of complications around Covid, yet they and MCFD ignore that and demonstrate a completely callous and uninformed attitude around protecting our family. Now, to be fair, they may be taking their marching orders from MCFD, but there comes a point where you have to be decent human beings and do what is best to keep people safe and think about the family, afterall that is part of the services they are supposed to provide.

Easter post: happy Easter with some coloured eggs.

Muslim post:
Eid Mubarak!
Eid al-Fitr, the “festival of breaking the fast”, is celebrating eid... along with a lovely photo of celebration...

If your going to mention the Muslim month long fast, why did you not mention the Christian 40 day fast? Or add more than just eggs to the Easter post, such as "He is Risen". Something, anything, to fairly represent and support your Christian community members. Are you going to mention the Jewish fast in July?!

Inclusion and equity demands recognition, respect and support of all. Why does the Muslim fast deserve acknowledgement but the Christian fast & traditions do not?!

I was hoping to get accepted but they would not take me due to me being a surrey resident even though I live on the border of Surrey and Langley and if I cross the street north I'm in Langley so it really makes me angry that they couldn't accept me also they told me over the phone that they would email me back which they never did. I get that they didn't email me back because they couldn't find sole reason to accept me but at least in that case they could still email me back just to let me know

They don’t provide any solution. Keep going there for employment services for eight months and didn’t get any results.
