Emerg diagnosed my gallbladder immediately, next morning I was sent by ambulance to PG for surgery. Was in PG twice, 8 day stays. I was in BL hospital 3x, 8,8 and 5 day stays. Great Dr's, great nurses, great hospital staff. Next year my hubby was diagnosed with a heart condition and he was referred to St Paul's for an angiogram & later for a valve replacement. Great Dr again.

Girlfriend was dealing with chest pain lower back pain, leading into her jaw, increased heart rate, sweating and cold spells as well as fainting... Left in waiting room for over 2 hrs. Everytime she got worse we pressed button for help and we were ignored. Tempted to go home and call an ambulance. No AED present in case she has a full blown heart attack. Since you can't recieve help!!!

Went in with unusual severe persistent headache. Turns out my blood pressure was very high and was given medication, then released. Then next day my symptoms continued so I was instructed to up my dose and that was it.

I drove to a larger hospital further south with the symptoms persisting and was immediately assessed with an ECG, Bloodwork, and CT scan of my brain. The health care providers that provided these tests were shocked that Lakes District Hospital didn't at least do Bloodwork or an ECG.

passing through town. Needed to see a doctor about a minor thing. A rash. waited for pretty near one hour....no worries....a nurse brought me and put me in a room. she said there is one patient before me and the doctor will see me....after 40 minutes to an hour listening, I was listening to the doctor hitting on the nurse before she was finishing her shift to go home....I decided to look outside the room to see how much longer I need to wait. The doctor came wearing sloppy clothing. His appearance was unprofessional....I simply asked him how long the wait will be? He answered me sarcastically stating that he's an emergency doctor taking care of emergencies. He's not there to be taking care of minor things like rashes....I thought that was very inappropriate of him to say that. I asked him if I should just leave, since I'm not there for an emergency.....he said "I'm just being honest and telling the truth. What's wrong with you? you can't hear the truth?" I told him that he's very inappropriate and unprofessional. He told me to leave the hospital without giving me any treatment at all....again I told him he's very unprofessional and it's inappropriate to talk to patients the way he was talking to me....he threatened that he was going to call the rcmp. I challenged him and told him go ahead. What are you going to tell them? He said that I was being verbally abusive.....I can't say it enough....this person is not a professional and does not behave like a respectable Dr. I understand it's a small town....it doesn't give a right to abuse authority. and talk down to patients.... he should realize that he gets paid because patients pay and he gets paid to provide a service.

Wonderful hospital. So clean and well-taken-care-of. The nurses and staff are very friendly and the rooms are very comfortable should you need to be admitted. I believe they tore down the old hospital and made a completely new one, and it's beautiful. Only complaint is the toilets that have the absolutely worst censors and will go off even if you're still just sitting there, then won't go off when you're done.

Nice hospital and staff but I am very disappointed with the care I received tonight. I came in with a dog bite and had a gushing hole in my hand. After an hour of waiting with a bloody swollen hand I finally asked for a ice pack as I finally realized they weren’t offering me any comfort. I have bad anxiety and was chattering my teeth and was never offered a blanket or something for my anxiousness. The x-ray technician was even surprised my hand was still untreated by the time she got there. I got sent home with a bandaid and had to get my grandma to properly wrap it and tensor it for pressure to stop the bleeding. I have pictures of proof and I’m very upset with the doctor that was on I should have received a stitch or something better then just a bandaid.

Feeling relieved and thankful for the time different departments took to dealing with a culturally sensitive situation. Felt a lot care being put towards my friends care.
