I was still very sick and lost when I put my last review. The truth is this place helped me a lot and saved my life in some ways . I had to do the work and am now clean , sober , and looking back on the awful person I was, they still helped me until they couldn't anymore . I'm not that man anymore thankfully.
Thanks Gospel mission and I'm sorry I gave a bad review in the past . I was angry at myself not you guys I realize that after years of healing

I had a really lovely experience with the actual staff at the dental clinic. They worked with my disabilities really well, and when they couldn’t they explained why. It’s a wonderful service that I’m grateful for.

One thing to note though: dem stairs. I noticed another review took a photo of them. They are steep and many in number—at least to a person whose endurance, agility and strength are effected by their disability.

I can’t recall if any of the forms mention the need to buzz for assistance, but I guess when you buzz in you have to ask for support… except the door was opened for me by an exiting person, and I didn’t notice the buzzer. I noted the lift chair but was too concerned with not being late to figure out in the moment what to do or who to speak to.

When I asked the team how they manage patients who use wheelchairs, or walkers, they mentioned they used to carry them up for the patient, but as staff were getting injured, they now asked that the patient bring an additional person who can do that for them.

I don’t blame the office, they’re doing their best with, I am certain, very few resources. It’s important that people know about this ahead of the game, and are reminded. I booked months in advance, so if I was told over the phone, I forgot. I noted that in the first email and in the text reminder it is not noted (just checked). I cannot check the forms I filled out as I no longer have access. My solution would be to remind folks over text.

A lot of people on PWD have compromised memories, it would really help us to be told and/or reminded about this rather significant accessibility hurdle.

Again—every human interaction I had was lovely. They all seem to be doing a good job with very few resources (I imagine). I’d just like it if the accessibility hurdle could be better addressed through better notification.
