They prioritize local, organic and seasonal groceries as much as possible.

Truly owned by the people (the members), rather than a corporation who is just trying to increase profits and share price as well as executive compensation. Membership is cheap as well. Something like $50/year or per quarter - will check and update this review.

You get a further 5% discount on your groceries if you volunteer there for 2 hours each month, for the following month.

Been looking for a grocery store like this my whole life I feel. I'm glad I finally found it

I can't wait for something like this to scale out and pop up in surrounding cities, so it will be less of a drive for me.

Great ethical and local grocery store. The co-op model is a win for food sovereignty and means that it is people, not profit driven. Some items are fair priced and others are pricier but still on par with other high end organic stores. I love to refill my cleaning supplies here such as dish soap, laundry detergent and even lotion and shampoo. You can also get beans, nuts, and dried fruits in bulk and it's all high quality!
You don't have to sign up to be a member to shop but membership is still a reasonable price. Please check this place out 🙂

We’ll run organic co-op, like a farmer market and more! Best prices in the city for organic food and clean cleaning products. So well stocked and organized. Cash and Debit only, worth a trip down karma lane 👩‍🌾 Bike 🚲 and car 🚙 parking 🅿️ available.

Karma is a unique place. It is a small for sure that sells mostly organic (I mean 90%+) and mostly locally sourced from Ontario farmers. It is a true co-op where everyone is an owner. Good for many items but might be difficult to get every grocery item you need. Unique products and organic products at reasonable prices. If you aren't a member you can get a trial membership free for a month to check it out.

If you are looking for an alternative to inflated, price gouging, national chains and want to feel confident that every item stocked in your grocery store has been vetted to make sure it is fair trade, fair wage, sustainability grown, etc, look no further. Regular sales, local producers, a sense of community, I can go on.

Can’t recommend Karma enough!

I love this co-op. It’s so fun to check out all the eco friendly cleaning products and other products they have. I really like that the food is organic and sold in bulk and you can bring your own containers. It was a walkable distance for me so that was great, and there’s also a bit of parking. I’m not actually in the co-op because I don’t live nearby anymore so I pay the extra cost for non-members, but the cost is marginal and still worth it.

I've been grocery shopping here since 2020 and it's the only store where I feel confident that my purchases are as socially and environmentally responsible as possible, not to mention healthy. I have a deep trust in what is sourced, and the prices are the best in the city as far as organic, locally grown and fair trade. It's a hidden gem I wish I knew about sooner.
