Amazing!
We were driving down a dirt road and noticed a building in the distance on the top of a rise. My wife and I chatted for a second trying to decide if it was church or not and I was right! 🙂

We did not explore the entire area as we did not have time.
The church is the original built by the first Hungarian settlers in Canada and there is also a historic homestead and grotto on the same property.

We did not arrive when the church was suppose to be open but a lady was there and chatted with us for a while about the property and then let us inside to see the stained glass windows, amazing!

If we had more time in the area, I would go back and explore the other sections of the property.

This is a magnificent place! I enjoyed so much to be able to walk inside and upstairs and where the priest lived back in the day!
So very well preserved!
So kind the place keeper, a descendant from one of the pioneers.

Very pleasant surprise. Over 120 years old. Not used since 1962, but in good shape. A delight. We were in off season, but pleasant young man who was working on maintaining graciously opened for us. Thank you.

Tök véletlen találtuk a térképen, mikor Esterhazyt látogattuk meg. Érdekes élmény volt a puszta közepén magyar szöveget olvasni, és kicsit beleképzelni magunkat a világba, amibe a magyarok érkeztek. Ha a közelben jársz, ajánlom. Sajnos nem tudtunk bemenni, de a külső rész is szép, és rendben van tartva.

Interesting place to learn about some of the local history within the Church and the surrounding buildings of what their life would've been like. Would recommend if you're in the area
