First time went to Food bank. Staff are friendly. Today don’t have much choice on vegetables, so I pick some mushrooms, tomatoes, bell peppers & apples. Also got milk 2L & yogurt 2 small bottles and half of a cake.
My suggestion is go as early as possible, don’t wait till 8 am, bring your own bags.

The most amazing experience at a food bank. Very friendly and helpful staff. Didn't make you feel uncomfortable, as many of us do having to use their services. They were compassionate, and understand. I have not received this amount of food as a single person anywhere that I have lived. I was astounded by what they gave. A wonderful surprise. fresh fruit and veggies too. And you can use their services twice a month unlike most food banks. I cannot honestly say enough good things. Made my heart full. Thank you again for your generosity and compassion.

——--Christmas🎅 at the Food Bank🤢
: i’ve just noticed the food bank isn’t as good as it used to be. I’m on disability so I use the Food Bank from time to time but not anymore. When I go in there, people are like oh it’s been a long time since you’ve been in here. Usually at Christmas, we get a turkey or a gift card something special last year we got a dog chew toy, and rotten food.
But who cares they’re poor people, right?
Chicken that made me sick was left out in the grocery store and they threw it in the Food Bank Bin to be delivered.
The lady that runs the place is rich off of us and it’s been getting worse.., She makes a lot of money off the government, holds a donation dinner for some of the richest people in Kamloops, companies businesses, that donate hundreds of thousands of dollars every year last year too. It was the worst, they made hundreds of thousands and gave us rotten food.! 🍱
They spent taxpayers money on huge buildings and property to store all this huge amounts of food in there but then why are they’re giving us rotten food anyway., why give us the rotten food if your
having spent hundreds of thousands of dollars you need a big building to store all this extra food in it makes no sense.., Now they give you food nobody wants or can do anything with really.
If I go to the food bank for food, people keep telling me every time I go in that the staff get all the good stuff first!
I’m like what no way.,
they’re like yeah dude it’s true.

I don’t know, but all I know is the people that runs the place for the last 10 years the quality has been getting worse and they making more money then they ever have before every single year.
It’s like the grocery stores they say that there’s inflation but they, every year they make billions of dollars more than they did last year Same with this Food Bank.

This place has only gotten better. I used to go here many years ago but had to go back a couple of times this year and I like the new set up. I was surprised to see it open on Saturday. When someone told me I didn't believe him at first. They seemed to be a little short of staff when we were there but they were excellent. I will remind everyone that the staff are volunteers so be courteous and nice. And also remember that this is a benefit and not a right so remember to thank everyone before you leave because without them you would not have this service.

Absolutely love the people that work here, they do a mighty fine job at helping and assisting everyone that comes here... I do wish tho that the grocery stores and where ever else would donate more desserts again . I'm glad they do the birthday cake for birthdays still .
