The Janvier Gallery at Cold Lake is a one-of-a-kind destination that hosts so many beautiful pieces painted by Alex Janvier. It is absolutely worth visiting. It is also great to meet Alex's family members who are warm and welcoming - they carry with them Alex's legacy and are generous with sharing Alex's history as one of Canada's premier Indigenous artists. Visiting the gallery is a great experience!

Beautiful Artwork. Excellent correspondence and reliable shipping. Support local whenever possible. I’m a big fan of Alex’s work but the service from the gallery has always been fantastic over the 20 years I’ve frequented. Have had items shipped with zero issues. Better still is a visit to the gallery and buy in person.

The Janvier gallery is a hidden jewel and well worth seeking out when you are in the Cold Lake area. How blessed we are to have this gem in our midst. I visited for the first time recently with friends from out of town and was blown away by the airy lightness and serenity of the gallery. So beautifully curated, the walls tell a story of strength and resilience. Alex’s family, who are loving guardians of the gallery and Alex’s beautiful works, were thoughtful and kind hosts. They blended into the background as we enjoyed the art but were available and knowledgeable to answer our questions when asked. Being open only by appointment lends itself to a very intimate viewing of the gallery. I highly recommend.

What a beautiful gallery. We were struck, as we drove up, by how beautiful the actual building is. The show definitely didn’t disappoint. Such amazing work. I have long been a fan of Alex, and seeing his paintings at the gallery was a dream I’ve had for several years. His daughter was very welcoming and answered any questions we had. There are items for sale in a wide range of prices, to suit any budget. I can’t recommend a trip to Cold Lake, highly enough.

A bit off the beaten trail but a nice drive. Warm and welcoming, well lite with walls full of amazing art filled with light, color, life and love. An hr or two taking it in is Good medicine, time well spent !

Booked an appointment to tour the gallery with a visiting friend. I had only been before when it was located in the old ATB building in Cold Lake North. Beautiful drive to the Janvier Gallery. Very well presented collections. Appreciated the teachings from the knowledgeable & extremely helpful curators. A must see for everyone living in and visiting Cold Lake.
