Volunteer here often and absolutely love the vibe of everyone there. Take kiddo for walking the dogs in the evening around 7pm they are very appreciative of the help.

Really great place to spend some time and find a furever friend. All the ladies are really great. They work SO hard for all the animals and the community. Not to mention all the work at the new building ontop of it all. I've loved coming in to visit the animals and give a hand when my mental health lets me do a little extra.

Horrid place. I found 4 puppies and I can't have them and it was a straight No from them. There there to help animals. Not shut them out

Resorting to a low class tactic of Shock Advertising (Neuter your Ex campaign on this Valentine's day), clearly shows how desperate this place is getting. Not laughing with you, laughing at you. Pathetic. Attaching negative emotions to these innocent animals in the name of seeking funding for neutering and spaying is simply disgusting not comical at all (at least for a person of sane mental health).

Put an application in to adopt a dog, heard nothing so did another one….nothing. Emailed asked about the application I put in for a certain dog…nothing! Instead of no communication what so ever, remove the dog from the site, nothing no communication. Plus hours 1-4 I really pray all the animals are well cared for, that the hours are for public viewing only not how many hours a day the animals are cared for 🙁 Very unprofessional. Never will I consider them nor will I give them recommendations.

We had a wonderful experience adopting from the Humboldt SPCA. The animals are very lucky to have people like Wanda and the rest of the staff looking after them and also looking out for the animal’s best interest. Shelters have many expenses in operating and it is interesting to see the people complaining about the cost of adoption. The SPCA has to charge a fee to recoup some of this money to continue operating and helping future animals. The adoption fees are a great deal when you consider that the animals are vaccinated and vetted. Many pets on Kijiji for a lower price will not be!

Went to inquire about a pup. A gruff woman provided no customer service. Felt exceedingly uncomfortable by the atmosphere and worried what the adoption experience would be like. Enough to make me rethink adopting from this facility. Hoping that others have a better experience. There were some darling pups to be loved.

Wanda was exceedingly kind and helpful. She knew each of the animals, their personalities, and what could be expected from them. It was her helpfulness that convinced me to adopt from the Humboldt SPCA even though I live in BC. My pup is 4 mos old today and is wonderfully socialized and I believe that is due in a large part to the care he got at the SPCA.
