I went there the other day with my daughter, as she was looking for counseling but with someone who would understand what she is going through and has gone through, being half Aboriginal. She was and still continues to being bullied for the colour of her skin. We me with Kelly who was absolutely amazing 👏, he gave me chills, but in a good way as I could feel a deep spirituality from him.

People actually need help with safe housing and jobs right now, not a "safe" space to be exposed to drugs, alcoholism, and sexual harassment. This is still an issue, and its hard to convince anyone of an issue with a white male, still. Any street program is exposed to these issues, and can be traumatizing.
That's most of my experience being around first nations organizations, unfortunately. Ive have had success gaining more empathy through arts organizations in Toronto, led by woman.
I'm lucky I didn't fall for it, but some of my family friends have and it's devastating. We live in criminalized, and often dark space for indigenous choices, universally. Our languages, and arts are all being colonized.

You should really be able to see this already and not have people telling you on the internet or directing people like me to your programs without clarity about the situation

I'm lucky my smart instincts were to go back and keep fighting for my family and intergenerational housing.
It seems social systems have actually focused more on being cut off from families than legal support for job insecurity and more representation in services (especially crazy because we are worth so much for our education!!)

If you're multicultural it's for sure a danger to go here without harm reduction knowledge and hard boundaries. For the most part, our ideologies don't align for "land back" guilty feelings and drug rehab which appears in the settler perspective.
We should be able to converse more easily for indigenous issues over all cultures and knowledge, when exposed to colonial racism and land approriation. It's not safe and it's a shame it's hurtful to people who aren't hurting anyone in the most possible way. The stories of abuse, due to colonialist systems keep mounting and continue to be true, so be careful with your emotional space

While they were out of shirts when I arrived, it's for such a great cause you can't be upset. Everyone was very friendly and accommodating. I'm super happy they did well with the t-shirts and raising money for the indigenous community. I was told that all proceeds go directly and they don't keep any. Healing indeed!

Everybody is great it's our family. And they offer and provide help with housing youth men / women's groups drumming/ beading. Have awesome lunch every wed, using the elements from creator and medicines and the native way... Everyone is made to feel equal. People are amazing there and the wisdom shines thru the healing of seven generations.

I am Cherokee descended but you people turned myself and my children away after one session. You did not say why but it is clear that any white appearing people will not be welcome here. I urge your management to get a hold of me and to tell me on record why I was told by native CAS that I was not welcome to bring my family back. Thank you .

Have food hamper program. Most of the staff are nice and accommodating to your needs. I enjoy my time when I go there.
