TL;DR: If you have a strong accent and communication disabilities and wants to become a client, your mileage may vary.

Usually I am hesitant to give negative reviews - Especially to not-for-profits. Harvest Project probably has helped a lot of people based on the reviews.

Understandably they strictly communicate through English-only. I primarily communicate in English although I know other languages. But as a deaf person, I have a deaf accent. Thus they were not able to take me as a client.

If you are a person with communication disabilities and have a strong accent despite speaking English, your mileage may vary. I had explained that the challenges in communication only occur in first 1-3 meetings. Yet I was declined.

I am familiar with these discriminations all over my life - I can move on. But this lack of accessibility plans or communication strategy will prevent supporting those with communication barriers and accents and "reaching out to people across Metro-Vancouver’s North Shore challenged by family trauma, illness, job loss, and those oppressed by poverty".

I love this store but their hours are user-unfriendly. I understand that it is run by volunteers but so are many other thrift stores associated with charities. They manage the shifts better. Please consider opening it for a few hours each weekend. How are working single moms supposed to access your services and stores?

This is my second time shopping here this year after a recommendation from a friend. The other thrift stores I have visited were terrible: rude staff, floors that hadn’t been cleaned, items in disrepair and overpriced. This is an awesome thrift store! I’m impressed with the quality, pricing and how friendly and helpful the volunteer staff are. It’s also a great way to give back to the community by supporting them. I’ll definitely come back here to donate my gently used clothing.

I went to the thrift store, if you are around the area you should stop by, they have some quality stuff. But I’m going to be honest most of the clothing is old fashion but in the other hand sometimes you can find really good treasures so, as any thrift shop is a 50/50. But thank you for all the staff that is making a beautiful work and are very friendly.

Great local charity to support. The Thrift Shop is a gem, you'd hardly know it's a thrift venue. Items were nicely displayed, organized and very fairly priced with a good selection. The staff were friendly and helpful.
