Really strange interaction with the lady who was making the appointments. It sounded like some weird power dynamic where she was slightly unclear almost everything, as to almost gaslight me. I’m fine with policies and working around them but the way she was explaining everything to me was very rude. It’s crazy because when I try and call someone out on being rude they try and suggest I’m trying to get around policy. To deflect from the issue that they’re being rude. I’m fine working with policies, everyone has to.

I called trying to reschedule my appointment because I had a sore throat and a fever, but she said just come with a mask. I told her that I was concerned my health would suffer if I came across town (is an three hour commute for me) and she told me that because of the 24 hr cancellation policy that I’d have to wait another 30 days. Whatever it’s fine but here is the weird thing:

She spoke to me like I was a an invalid. Quite frankly, it was very off and it sounded like she was constantly trying to humiliate me lowkey. I’ve only ran into a few people like this in my life, maybe it’s because she is speaking English as a second language and it’s not her fault, but it’s just weird the way she phrases things, almost to mislead on purpose to humiliate. Just because a person doesn’t have a lot of money doesn’t mean they’re an idiot.

Always super likpio, good quality food, now it is a safe place where you can't stand the cold or the heat while you wait depending on the season, a very good idea the option they impose to be able to have access when waiting for your turn

The staff was very rude. They were disrespectful over the phone, even made me cry, and rejected my application for registration with the food bank, explaining that everyone is struggling and they don’t provide food to just anyone. Despite the fact that the program we are on in Canada includes support from food banks in Canada. If we didn’t need a help we would never ask for that.

I called to book an appointment with an asian lady at reception today on Wed, Jun 28 at 4:15pm. I have autism and she was very condescending and spoke down to me the entire time and made me feel very small. I had a panic attack midway and she seemed very pleased with herself after. Her voice softened an suddenly turned 'kind' after.

Then, about 20 minutes later, i called to reschedule the appointment to another location via voice message. What ended up happening was i was never able to speak to anyone but had my appointment cancelled without my knowledge.

It feels like this organization is using scheming tactics to turn people down. Now it says i need to wait 30 days to book another appointment.
