I called and asked for help .. immediately starts threatening me saying the second I share my name, they gonna report me and I lose all confidentially....completely disgusting way to treat someone who is asking for help.

There are a lot of complaints about the number of homeless people. I used to donate hygiene and beauty products to the YWCA, but having to schedule an appointment to DONATE products is too much¡

This is a wonderful facility that addresses every need that a mother or child could want or need. The staff are phenomenal, the rooms are a wonderful size, toys for the children in all the family areas and a kitchen open 24 hours, always very well stocked and an amazing dinner made every evening. You and your children are always safe whether you are inside and out at Gillian's. I was on the Board of Directors and I can honestly say this is a cause worth supporting.

Was grateful for the safe space. Had some support but not as much as women with children. After a few weeks was awakened in early morning to be informed I was being displaced to Southridge. I learned it was men & women which I was not ready for. Not to mention it is a religious setting and I am an atheist. I had only a short time to gather my things and had no opportunity to speak to my friends so I was left unsupported and alone as I moved to another strange place. Communication and respect as well as empathy is lacking at Gillian's Place and perhaps if the employees had faced these issues in their lives they may have been more sympathetic to how I felt. It was like they couldn't wait to get me out fast enough. Southridge is awful and you can read my review if you are interested.

This is a woman's shelter but is definatley kid friendly. If you are in an emergency situation and need to leave this is one of the places to go. If you are in an abusive relationship you can take refuge here ad well. Don't hesitate please just come! There are so many services offered here. They have counselling for residents but also outreach as well. There is also kids counselling available too! There is always a fridge full of food , a hot meal and an ear to listen. Please don't wait. This place has strict confidentiality rules and no men are allowed on premises which are also monitored by cameras at every entrance and in the parking lot. You have to be buzzed in because of high security standards!! Private rooms and rooms for mothers and children availiable!
