My family and I went to watch our son play hockey recently. It was later on at night and the hockey arena area was sectioned off from the rest of the complex. Hockey games can go as late at 11:30 for adults. There is still access to washrooms the elevator and vending machines. The seating area is elevated and heated, there are also ample netting to stop any flying pucks from reaching the stands. Having an elevated view allows a for a better view of the play.

Genesis Place is a fantastic recreation center that truly has it all! From the pool with a water slide and lazy river to the fully equipped fitness center, it caters to all ages and interests. The variety of sports courts and multiple ice arenas make it a hub for active living and family fun. Everything is well-maintained, and the staff are friendly and helpful. It's amazing to have so many options in one convenient location. Highly recommend for anyone looking to stay active or just enjoy a fun day out!

There are loads of fun things to do here, a spot to hang out with your friends, have a board meeting, improve your physical well-being, and much more. I am a competitive swimmer here and know this place well. There are lots of friendly staff willing to help out, but this place is usually packed, and there is limited parking, especially when there are multiple events happening at once. Doesn't matter if it is a weekend or weekday. It is always a dice roll if you will be able to find a parking spot. Otherwise clean and nice facility.

My first swimming experience was superb. Staffs were friendly, welcoming, and competent. I just came here two weeks ago from Ontario for work, and I love it here in Calgary. I will keep coming back to Airdrie Genesis for lots of fun swimming, playing ballgames, skating, and others. Monthly pass to this facility is very reasonable. I highly recommend Genesis Airdrie.

The Genesis Place swimming pool is a fantastic facility that my kids and I enjoy visiting. We always check online beforehand to ensure that the slide and lazy river are open, as their schedules are separate from the public swim times. Both of my boys have taken swim lessons at Genesis Place, and we appreciate the warmer pool temperature that allows us to jump right in without having to gradually adjust to the cold. Overall, it's a great place for families to have a fun and enjoyable swimming experience.

If you just go to Genesis Place for the pool, I recommend the 10 visit scan card. You get a great discount that can be used over time, where the monthly pass would require visiting 5-6 time a month to break even.

Genesis is not a bad place. The amenities are nice and they have a good selection. But what I can’t get over is how expensive it is! 17$ to drop in is absurd, especially considering how the place is always very crowded and it can be hard to find space to do some of the activities you would wish to do. If you can afford to go, do so. But it is not worth it really.

I have mixed feelings about Genesis. Overall, as a facility it is mostly good. The classes we have participated in have been good. However, it's incredibly over crowded (especially for swimming) and difficult to find parking. The water slide is rarely actually open during public swim, it seems, my son sliced his toe open on something in the pool and THE COST for swimming alone is ridiculous.

The facility has lots of amenities but it is alway overcrowded, You show up and have no room to play. With a monthly fee of 160$ for a family it would be nice to have access. Flexibility would improve experience. When asked if an empty space could be used for something other than the prescribed drop in activity, we were told no, even though no one was in it. Since it’s the only place in town it’s take it or leave it. Waste of a membership!
