My oldest is an alumni and my youngest currently attends Friendly Forest Preschool. It is their favourite place and they speak about the wonderful things the teachers do frequently. As a parent it is a lovely community to be a part of with tons of support and life long friendships were created there for us as well as our children.

The parent participation is at your own level, with many options of involvement. The teachers and board members work with parents to find them appropriate things that can be contributed so every family can do their share.

My 3yo loves going to preschool each week at Friendly Forest. The teachers have been there decades and are exceptional. It's a play-based child-led learning environment with intention, such as sensory and water play, new daily/seasonal arts and crafts, vegetable garden, shared snack, circle story time and lots of outdoor play. I only wish it was longer! I recommend it to any family looking for the perfect preschool start for their little one.

We are back at this amazing and magical preschool with our youngest child after having a 3 year gap from when our son was there. We didn’t think it could get any better than it already was but it’s even better than I remember the first time around. Our daughter asks each morning if it’s a Friendly Forest day and moves faster on the mornings when the answer is yes! The consistency with staff over the years, the cozy and natural interior, and top notch large outdoor space is part of what sets this preschool apart from others. My daughter loves putting on her own face paint, trying out snacks that may be new to her, and creating many pieces of artwork and inventions. The interactive story time/felt boards/finger play also seems to be a highlight for her. The parent cooperative aspect allows deeper connections between families and staff as well as between the families themselves. It’s great for the kids to see their parents involved in their school. There are many options that include hands on roles, behind the scenes duties or things you can do from home. You won’t be disappointed with your experience at this wonderful place nestled in the trees.

Couldn’t ask for a better preschool! You can tell the teachers do their work here out of pure love and care for the children, and they do pay attention to every single child and help them develop and flourish at a level that even a parent couldn’t achieve. I can see my daughter learning valuable social and life skills, all at the same time genuinely enjoying her time there and wanting to go there 5 days a week! So for me the only downfall is that there is no option for my little one to attend 5 days a week. I also love the building and the play area, and how there is very minimal use of plastic. I do think it takes a level of commitment as a parent to send the child here, but it is totally worth your time and energy as this age is so important and fundamental for your child’s development and future.

My kid LOVES it here! We were looking for a preschool that focused on play and just let the kids be kids and we couldn’t of asked for a more perfect place. The teachers have all been there for years and truly love what they do. Whether your child is spirited, quiet, shy or curious - the folks here at Friendly Forest embrace them all with so much love, patience and kindness. My daughter has come home signing songs she’s learnt at school and literally runs out the door on preschool days. What a wonderful place.

Best preschool ever! I went here as a child and was so excited to enroll my child this year! The teachers are so lovely and caring, the school community is amazing and the preschool itself is adorable, and we love the outdoor nature play area. This preschool is an absolute gem and I cant recommend it enough!!

I am so grateful to have found Friendly Forest. This is my 4th year as a Friendly Forest parent and my children have thrived here. The facility is a child’s dream with a magical outdoor play yard and a large indoor classroom stocked to the brim with every imaginable material needed to spark imaginative play. The teaching staff are incredible and I am a better parent by watching their gentle, kind and inquisitive interactions with the children. As a parent, perhaps the most amazing part of the school has been the parent cooperative element of the school. It has allowed me to make connections with other parents and be engaged in my children’s school in a way that wouldn’t happen in a standard drop-off/pick-up program. If you’re looking for an amazing place to start your child’s educational experience, look no further.

My daughter has had such a fulfilling experience at Friendly Forest! We love how she is outside everyday and how much fun she has getting messy inside the classroom with facepainting and slime and all of the creative activities that the teachers dream up. I extremely appreciate the resources and support the teachers have provided for me as a parent as well, navigating the determination and curiosity of the 3/4 year old developing brain. The biggest testament to this school is how much she wished she could attend during the summer and is so excited everyday that she gets to go to preschool. Thank you, Friendly Forest!!
