The men, at the most part are each other's best support. Non judgemental because they know each other's pain. As they pass each other by and if they see pain in their buddy's eyes there is always an outreach or hug to share their support and care .

This place saved my life. The staff and support are incredible, the place is full of love and support.
I honestly never thought I would get sober, I was destroyed in everyway possible.. mentally, physically, spiritually, even emotionally. I can honestly say I am now over 2 years sober and I am back to myself. This place helped me find God and helped me find myself again.

So grateful to everyone there that was a part of my journey, met some of the most solid guys in that place.

If you are sick and struggling and you are serious about getting your life back this is the place to do it.

Thank you Freedom's Door for giving me my life back.

If it wasn't for Freedoms Door I wouldn't have been lucky enough to meet the man of my dreams. They helped him turn his life around and without them he wouldn't be here today. He's still actively involved with them through his work so Ive been so blessed to see the great work they do in men's lives on a regular basis.

After many frustrating years I made the decision to better myself through this organization.
I expressed my frustrations and desire to change. I was told to call between 9-4 daily to be put on list. I called first thing every morning to show my want and need for there facility and programs.
I was told there were 30 people in front of me. After 3 weeks I had less than 10 people ahead of me, I was excited and hopeful for the change that was coming to my life. When I was close to getting in they tell me there policy changed, they now asked how frustrated I was from 1-10 , 1 being extremely frustrated. I expressed I was a 1.
The following day I was asked and was interrupted and was suggested by staff on phone that " I was a 4 or 5 right " I said no I'm a 1.
Again the next day they suggested my level of frustration and at this point I felt I was getting nowhere and stopped phoning in.
After the many weeks of expressing my need for change and my frustrations i never received a call to see if I was alright and why I stopped calling. Extremely saddened by this and I have lost whatever faith I had left in the churches and there organizations.
Don't waste your time with Freedoms Door. There are many other facilities out there that deserve your business and want to help you so look around and ignore this one. Be safe and hope you all get the help you need and deserve.

Sadly to say,
If there was a zero, I'd have put that instead of 1.
Today, with the recent suicide/death of Jeremy, a former staff member, has angered me greatly.

This just proves my theory, simply put.....GOD DOESN'T WORK.
A devoted Christian, has yet again that this program of Freedom's Door isn't working.
The success rate here is less than 1%
Why?
The so called programming is a JOKE.
MONDAY NIGHTS, TOM, sings his bible music, then brings out literature from the old testament.
I learned NOTHING about mental illness and nothing about addiction.
My dearest friend, JUSTIN INVERARITY suffered the same ending as Jeremy.

I suggest to the DOOR, look at what you are providing and so called teaching these men who are in need.
Prayer n proverbs DONT WORK.

Also,
For a non-profit charity,
You sure have no problem taking a blind eye to charging the ministry 1300 p/m
While non BC residents pay 875.
Because government funding pays more.
They pay their staff $6 per hour under the table.
How CHURCHY is that?

To anyone reading this,
Move on. There are other treatment centers,
This one is a revolving door.

Spoken the truth,
Trent Bouckley

This is a place of love and kindness. In most cases some form of sadness or trauma caused the problems men face and this truly is a place to heal through love both from the staff right down to the other men struggling. Ill always have a special place for them all in my heart. This program Saves lives 100%

I was completely dead inside. I had no hope, no future and wanted my life to end. Freedoms Door took me in and gave me a new hope for life. They taught me through spiritual guides, daily group therapy, mentorship, and a comrodery with the men in Freedoms Door, which I have never experienced. I attained 4.5 years of sobriety thanks to their foundation which they showed to us. During my 22 month stay, I completed my education, both my Dogwood diploma, and me electrical apprenticeship, year 1 level. I was overloaded with fears, resentments, self-pity, and anger. I left with a new hope, confidence, friendships, and direction. I met an incredible team of volunteers, who give of themselves freely, expecting nothing in return. Freedom's Door has forever changed my life. I will never forget them, nor will I ever be able to repay them for what they did for me. If you are suffering from drug addiction, alcohol abuse or any other mood altering substance use, phone them up. Funding is taken care of while you are there and I didn't pay a dime from my own pocket for almost 2 years of life changing love and compassion.

They have a winning formula which is love, most importantly God's love, this program is the reason I've been able to reach over a years sobriety, something I've failed to do attending other treatment facilities. Many thanks
