I'm quite biased about this park because I live just down the street!
I've also donated to the "Friends of Foster Park" fund to plant new trees and done some sessions of ridding the site of invasive plant species, also led by the same group.
Green spaces are so important and this neighbourhood park is extremely well utilized.
Upgrades include a covered picnic table, upgraded playground and new fencing.
Many groups gather for exercise and parties.
There are also a few trails where people can stroll with or without a dog on leash.
A resident caretaker lives in the house in the park and ensures that the lovely environment is maintained.
Seasonal upkeep is provided by the City of Parksville, which includes grass cutting, watering, washroom cleaning and ensuring equipment is safe.
Foster Park is a special place to spend a few hours with family and friends!

Lovely park! I especially loved the various information signs along the trail and the miniatures such as the rocking chair and others. Thank you to those who created such a trail.

This park is so special to the surrounding community. Very well maintained and manicured. The washroom is very clean and has a baby change station in BOTH bathrooms.

Our ukulele group visited Foster Park, and set up in the gazebo to play for about an hour. (Parksville Ukulele Group, PUG.BAND)

Is a very nice venue, with lots of people around, with pets.

One of our absolute favourite parks to explore with a preschooler and toddler. The sponge ground makes it easy and safe for my toddler to play, and the equipment is entertaining for my preschooler. There’s a meadow, gazebo, picnic tables, public washroom, and trails right next to it! Hidden gem!

I love Foster Park at dinner time. We can spend more than 2 hours there and be all alone. The playground is amazing and the grassy area is well maintained. Public washrooms are well stocked and clean.

Good children's playground with swings, slides, climbing and rubber flooring that's soft. Lots of benches, picnic tables and bathrooms with water fountain. Lots parking and small forest walk near by. Large grass area. Only complaint is with the gazebo which is littered with bottle caps and cigarettes butts could use a good cleaning.

This is a well-kept secret. If you're not interested in the high occupancy of the main Parksville Beach Community Park playground, then Foster Park is a great little alternative. Outside the play area, there's a nice field, plenty of tree cover for shade and a lovely gazebo.
