UPDATE*** - Covid and senior/high risk individuals related, it is shocking to see how unprofessional the management of the co-op, Deana Sheriff and Alicia Martinez are, making home inspections that last 30 minutes and IGNORING to respect and listen to the doctors notes provided, you are not above a doctor also part of your job is picking up phone calls and returning missed calls. This is not a joke for Seniors. 3 times to try, that's way too many times to ignore people's health.
Also when has anything really ever been done after the inspections to fix anything in the units?

Original: Nothing positive to say here in my personal experience, I wouldn't suggest anyone to move in this neighbourhood. You have to be careful with who you befriend or you will deal with adult bullying by either the board members, the unethical property manager or a mix of both, I would not recommend it
for your health or happiness.

I've lived here for 26 years, as a child of course it was good I was a kid, as a grown up though seeing what people have gone through and the stress they have had to go through because of he said she said, and these are adults who are supposed to know how to act humanely in their position. People who are supposed to know how to interact with people professionally, like I said if you don't befriend the right people and turn into an adult bully yourself you will basically be at risk. It is extremely sad people have to live like this in a country like Canada.

This coop has been actively discriminating against disabled people. Their current management is deceitful, has violated the privacy of disabled tenants, and broken rules regarding what landlords are allowed to do re raking pictures of tenants possessions without permission, and entering unit without notice or permission.

Scary neighbourhood. Coop is filled with thugs and drug dealers. The Board does nothing about it, almost welcoming them. Instead they pick on the vulnerable.

Too much questionable and shady activity at the management and board level. This Co-op should be investigated for not following Ontario Co-op policies and laws.

I don't have experience living in the co-op, but the parking is awful. i went to pick up my daughter and had trouble getting in, parking, and getting out. The roads are narrow and there weren't enough visitor parking spots.

The neighbourhood on Fairlea Crescent, like other places, have those who you could call pessimists. Fortunately, there are also many optimists who have been working hard for several years to bring the community back together and make it safe place for children to grow and play. I have lived here since 1993, love it more than ever before, and am raising my children here. There are many good people from the area, including from the co-op, who do many positive things for this community. The Fairlea Park Housing Co-op has recovered from years of poor management and is continually enhancing its business practices and living conditions to be a safe, secure, and happy place to live. This turn around and improvement is because of the awesome work continued by the property management as well as by dedicated co-op members who volunteer their precious time. Overall, the residential units, maintenance, and service from the office in the co-op is anywhere from good to great. Any issues I have had in the past with my unit, I have communicated them in a formal (written) and civil manner and have had them resolved in a professional, reasonable, and courteous manner as well.

Home is what you make it, and here, many people, including myself, continue to work hard to make the Fairlea Park Housing Co-op a beautiful, safe, secure, and friendly place to live. The neighbourhood has been improving just as the facilities in the area continue to. Around the bend on Heatherington, the Albion-Heatherington Community Centre was once run out of a portable for years but finally has its own building run by great local people. Come July 5, 2013, we'll have a splash pad here in the Fairlea Park field too. And, if you love nature and wildlife like many of us do here, the Hydro field provides a small green space at the back of the neighbourhood, adding tranquility to this place. The Heron Gate Mall is also undergoing renovations and bringing in new stores to the neighbourhood.

As for service, the city, organisations (such as Fairlea Community Association, South-East Ottawa Community Health Centre, and Let Them Be Kids), and local residents, including many of those residing in the Fairlea Park Housing Co-op, work hard to enhance community capacity and make it a safe and fun place for children to grow up. The police, firefighters, and paramedics are out at community events to show their support, and their presence is always welcome as this lowers crime and makes residents feel secure. I can even see the changes in some of the youth both within and outside of the co-op as they appear to be learning positive life lessons from this family-oriented community (i.e. team work, self-discipline, and respect). They seem happier and are able to find activities that keep them out of trouble (i.e. kids raising money under supervision to go to Mont Cascade Water Park). Places where people care about their home and for their young help to establish a caring, moral, and productive society. I love Fairlea Park Housing Co-op and the community in which it rests in, and I hope to live many more years here.

The manager of this co-op has some very questionable tendencies after what I've heard from residents. Be wary when looking for residence here, especially if you're under social assistance.
