I volunteered here and was not treated well by the volunteer coordinator after receiving no training whatsoever and making a small mistake on my first day. They do great work for the community and treat the all their clients with respect and dignity, but do not necessarily treat all their volunteers that way. Lots of other places to volunteer and donate to in Oshawa, I would not recommend volunteering here. The board should consider replacing the volunteer coordinator with someone more competent and considerate who actually practices what they preach (the "golden rule").

The place is welcoming, clean, and great for the community. It's awesome what they do and hope they can continue doing it. I volunteered here with a couple of friends and it was an amazing experience. We met amazing people (except for one crazy guy) and I hope I can volunteer again.

My friends and I volunteered there one Saturday. The staff are very compassionate about their work. They really care about people who walk into the door. They were so grateful for helping them out. If you have a couple of hours, please volunteer with them. It will be a heartwarming experience.

The name should be left in the mid 20th century. Does anyone think those in difficult circumstances financial and housing wise want to be called "needy"? Even like Outlook for Others in Need or Outlook for Those in Need would be an improvement. Thrift store looks very small and the hours are not accessible for anyone who works 9-5. I wanted to make a donation but there was no way to do that externally, which I can understand because of theft. I did ring the bell by the volunteer entrance but was not deemed fit to open the door to I guess. Would like to give a higher rating of I can get to the location when it's open.

My husband and and I shared a smile and a hand during Tuesday night's supper. at Outlook. Outlook operates like a fine -tuned machine with happy and respected patrons and volunteers working together.

Immaculate condition, a brand new outreach that's seriously making a difference. The meal is astounding and very well balanced. Finally, a place that genuinely fills up the stomach of anyone in need enough to appreciate the help. The meal is volunteer based. Whether you can donate or not isn't important, you'll still be happily served regardless of helping the charity and it's cause. Every table is immediately wiped clean after each meal, server's are Angelic like eloquent about the provisions, polite, and incredibly accommodating, and the atmosphere is actually quite peacefully calming, with gratitude on once hungry people. This is a necessary resource that enables a person to nutritionally function, regardless of their circumstances...i can only hope that more units of affordable housing are offered to rent, even if temporary transition, and that eventually, there'll be no reason for a person to be without a roof, without simply, a normal home. Thank You for giving Durham Outlook...
