If you have a child with autism or a learning disability that has experience with computers, I do not recommend this programs computer donation. I have Aspergers, OCD and ADHD and applied around the beginning of summer and by the time it took them to approve it took about 3-4 weeks to send as they "didn't have the proper packaging". When it arrived it was a decade old T410 Thinkpad with a Dualcore i5 and only 4GB of RAM, very low for even low standards on PC/Laptop Specs today and very slow. It won't update properly for Windows 10 and doesn't follow criteria of modern software, firmware, etc. I'm not aware of other donations they can make but if you have a child with a learning disability or autism that has experience with computers I do not recommend there computer donation. HN (Edit; Oh I forgot to mention, I gave them feedback on the laptop and now they say they want it back because, and I quote "Just to let you know, we only fund laptops to those with learning disabilities." So I don't know if I should feel flattered or no? Plus I think they need to rethink about what they said, just because you have a learning disability doesn't mean your not smart.)
