A great little spot and convenient location. Decent value. The decor seems a little dated. The spa tub was very nice although not available after 10:30pm. David was friendly and explained everything well. Not a fan of the carpets which seemed very tired. I think a laminate floor would be much better. Room had a portable aircon which was a little noisy but worked. Bed was decent but pillows were not comfortable. The rate included a breakfast which was a bit of a surprise as there is no choice. Just eat what you get. David served us a decent egg Benedict however the eggs were cooked hard and we prefer our eggs soft. There is a slight ocean view. One issue was late in the morning, in the middle of the night when a bunch of drunk people came out the pub and were making a lot of noise that woke us up in the early morning. Overall decent experience. One warning ⚠️ beware of the big cobble stone stairs walkway as you could roll an ankle or break a heel.

Room needs some TLC… some painting and new wallpaper and bedding. Now it is painted burgundy and very dark. The closet doors drag on the rug. The breakfast was disappointing! But some of the good features…gas fireplace, comfy bed, the breakfast was brought to your room. David the owner is extremely friendly and helpful! Would not be our first choice if we visited
Cowichan Bay again!

My partner and I have stayed here twice now and The Dreamweaver is an absolute gem!!! I would recommend it to anyone. The Primrose suite is SO kitchy-cute, and the big tub is absolutely luxurious after a long day of hiking. The owners were very cool about us needing to check in late after some flight delays, and David served us a simple, hearty, tasty breakfast each morning at the time we requested - being made gluten-free was no problem at all, and the gf options were so good I almost got worried they weren't actually gf! 🙂 Great service, nice location (walking distance to all the cute shops/restaurants in Cow Bay), and a comfy cozy suite we'll definitely visit again.

We had a wonderful stay here. The owners are a delightful couple. We stayed in The Rosewood Suite. Each suite is separate from the main quarters of the owners. The room we were in was tastefully decorated. Tea and coffee making facilities were in a cupboard which was rather awkward - nowhere else to make coffee. There was a large jacuzzi bath as well as a shower. The bath towels were a generous size and fluffy.||The bed was very comfortable with crisp cotton sheets and plenty of pillows. ||One criticism was there are cobbles outside and no handrail down to the car parking area.||The view from the breakfast room (in the owners quarters) was magnificent.||Breakfast itself consisted of fresh fruit yoghurt and granola followed by fresh homemade baked apple pancake. Fresh coffee - decaffeinated and standard plus fresh orange juice completed our meal.

⚠️ The owner did not honor posted prices for his rooms as outlined on his website. This was very sneaky and unprofessional. Without any communication from the establishment, the owner overcharged our credit card citing oodles of excuses. Only after stern arguments did he pay us back the overcharged amount. Check your credit card transaction⚠️
The Primrose room is very dated. The carpets are old and stained. The bed is rock hard . You don’t get a choice of breakfast - he did ask about allergies. Be very careful of the big cobblestone stair walkway - it’s very uneven and hard to walk on, it’s easy to roll an ankle here!

This was my first B&B stay – the idea of communal accommodation and dining actually didn't appeal to me. But since I was travelling alone, I thought I'd give it a try. However in terms of B&B's I suspect this is closer to a hotel than some, as each room has its own access: no trekking through family or communal spaces in the middle of the night. The doors are individually coded, so no keys or cards to lose. The house is storytale charming, and the rooms have a Victorian doll house feel. Great touches you don't get in hotels included actual milk and cream in fridge rather than the powdered stuff; a kettle and assorted tea bags; a couple of wine glasses and a corkscrew on the mantle (it's BC wine country after all); books, CDs and a stereo system atop a gas fireplace. Everything is very clean, welcoming and comfortable. David and Florence, the owners are super nice people who set a nice table and serve a great breakfast. They also give great advice about area amenities – pointing me towards the Cowichan Bay Pub for an excellent meal. It's also ideally situated at one end of the Cow Bay tourism strip. Just perfect. I even enjoyed chatting with the other guests – visitors from Great Britain – at breakfast. It was so lovely I booked another B&B in Port Alberni the next night and now I'm a total B&B convert.

I spent one night in this beautifully unique and cozy room. Very comfortable with everything you could need and the sweetest host. He made a delicious breakfast and brings it to you whenever you ask. I needed to leave in the morning and he came as promised at 7:30am with a perfect eggs benny! I was blown away with the hospitality and loved the feel of the suite. There’s a lovely outdoor sitting area and a great view. Highly recommend if you’re staying in Cowichan Bay!

Had a delightful stay at the Inn. The room had a soaking tub, fridge, tv, good lighting for putting on makeup, couch, comfortable bed, and other amenities. We had our own private deck overlooking most of the harbor. Florence and Dave (the hosts) were fun to talk with and very knowledgeable about everything local. The breakfasts were excellent and filling. Location was perfect for visiting the restaurants and bars, since the businesses were a half-block away.
