Such a well organized volunteer trip organized by DWC to Cambodia. Group of 14 volunteers from around the world for a one week trip to build two floating homes. Seamless experience with fantastic accommodations in a resort in Siem Reap and great meals provided throughout and a very experienced Team Lead. Definitely looking forward to more volunteer trips with them in the future.

I just returned from a week-long volunteer trip in Lima, Peru that was co-organized by my company and DWC. WOW. What an experience of a lifetime! Being in a 3rd world country could have been scary or overwhelming, but it never felt that way, and I truly believe DWC’s planning and execution is what made the trip so safe, fun, and successful. Something I love about DWC is that they support the community based on what the community shares it needs, as opposed to coming and telling the community what they need based on our privileged experience. The entire trip was life-changing, thank you so much, DWC.

My wife and I just completed a two week volunteer trip inSri Lanka at an elementary school near Pinnawala. We had a fabulous time with a great group of people that we met for the first time inSri Lanka. Getting to meet the teachers and the school kids is a highlight of this trip. Everyone is so welcoming and even with the language barrier you feel they want to chat. The food was great and at site we were fed by the parents the most delicious local meals. Our project involved excavating a bank to increase light to a new classroom, and plastering and painting the walls.
The beginning and end of the trip we had an amazing welcome ceremony and farewell from the school. In the middle weekend we managed some cultural activities including a wildlife reserve, a tea factory and a very cool Buddhist temple on top of a mountain. Altogether a very worthwhile experience.

An amazing organization that empowers communities! DWC works in underprivileged area all over the world, I just came back from one of their trip to Peru. I went with a group of colleagues (14 of us)…it was an experience I’ll never forget

I have thouroughly enjoyed all four of my DWC trips/projects - showers & bathrooms in Costa Rica, school room addition in Kenya, house in Nepal, and floating houses in Cambodia. Loyd of hands on building from the ground up. DWC is a small NGO that gets it right.

I have now done two trips with DWC - Guatemala and Peru. Both were amazing!
I think DWC is really doing what they set out - develop world connections. They work with local agnostic NGOs around the world to provide resources (human and monetary) to help move projects forward. These projects are what the local communities are asking for, not what DWC (or the western world) is dictating, and thus makes the impact real and sustainable.
Volunteers are there to work with the local community, make an impact there as well as learn so much that they can then bring back to their own communities.
Be prepared to work hard! And in the ways that the local community works. It is rewarding for everyone involved.

Developing World Connections does an incredible job of organizing meaningful trips & there is always someone available to answer any of your questions! Volunteering through DWC has been so life changing! It is not only a great opportunity to make meaningful friendships with those that are part of your team, but also gives you a chance to put your life into perspective & understand the significance of connecting with those that have a different background from yourself. Being of service puts one in touch with the needs of humanity and helps one understand that changing the world is a community effort. If you are interested in developing connections & doing meaningful & life-changing work, I highly recommend going on a DWC volunteer trip!

I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to go to Peru and Cambodia with Developing World Connections and I plan to participate in many more. Both these trips have changed my life completely and have given me the passion to help people all around the world. These trips are much more than just going to helping people in need. All trips around the world hosted by Developing World Connections focus on emerging yourself into the culture and understanding the individuals lifestyle you are helping by participating in culture based activities and creating ever lasting friendships with the people in the community. Developing World Connections ensures that you are getting as much out of your volunteering experience as the individuals you are helping. Traveling the World and helping people at the same time will making your travelling experience so much better and it makes you see the world in a different light; Developing World Connections can givr you a travelling experience like no other
